C-Dory 14

Does anyone know if the factory still owns the molds to the 14' if I wanted to order one? Or, does anyone hear of another 14' for sale?

I don't believe that the factory owns any of the C Dory molds. My understanding is that they pay a royalty to the company which owns the molds for each boat. I have not heard of a 14 being produced for some time--but most likely the molds are sitting around. They probably were not transferred back in the 2002 era? There were a number of molds which were not transferred as I understand it...(such as the 30' Catamaran).
 
I had my 22 worked on by Tern Boat Salvage last year (great place), which is an old C-Dory factory location. There are a few C-Dory molds sitting on the grassy slope behind the building. One of the guys there is a former C-Dory builder.
 
Yup, that would be Buck Williams, who is a registered user here, might be a lurker, his last post was in July 2009.
