C-Brats.com Rocks!

Hello Everyone...

For those of you who have followed the various threads about the deal I have been working on to buy a demo TomCat 255, I thought I'd let you all know that I have ultimately come to the end of that road, and, well...

I gotta boat!! :)

No name for it yet; still pondering that. Once we figure that out, perhaps Tyboo Mike can change my username. :)

I did want to say how much I appreciate all the suggestions, information, general help, and encouragement. Even beyond helping me work through the process, the level of user-support here itself played an important role of the decision to buy.

When I starting lurking here long ago, I never would have thought that an active online forum should factor into a boat purchase decision. But here at C-Brats.com, I can ask experienced C-Dory Owners questions about my boat -- and get multiple friendly, informed, thoughtful, helpful answers.

Imagine that!!

So I just wanted to say "Thank You" for all your help... and warn you that there are may questions to come. :)

Thanks again...

Congratulations!!!

You didn't JUST get a boat, you got a whole C-Brat family to go with it so technically I guess you just married the boat.

So what's the first modification??

Merv

I send my congratulations also. You are buying a great boat. I agree with Grumpy--you get a real extended family. One of the greatest joys for us is meeting and getting to know the fantastic people who are C Dory boat owners!
I know of no other on line family like this.

Yes, a family -- but we also like the characterization that we are all members of a pub -- honest answers, can poke fun, and all be respectful - welcome!

Mike,
Congrats. Welcome to the pub. :beer Just reviewed your pics - it's a demonstration model I understand, right? They don't look bad. Generally no one is going to take care of a demo boat the way a true owner would (in general terms). None-the-less, the items you commented on don't look bad.
Enjoy!

Ya, I agree -- C-Brats does rock.

There are two main reasons why we made the decision to downsize from our Sundowner Tug to our new CD22:

--> Following Bob Austin via the Trawler List for years and hearing his praise of the "smaller boat advantages".

--> Using the C-Brats site to determine that we can do everything that we did with our "bigger" boat in a CD22 (and probably more!!). Spent hours and hours just reading post after post to gain as much knowledge that I could before making the purchase. Plus, everyone seems to love their C-Dory.

Makes it just that much more fun to read, learn, and help other C-Dory owners.

Enjoy your evening.

Mike,

Congratulations on a very good boat. I would love to have what you got. It would be perfect up here. As others have pointed out, if you need a question answered, don't wait to the point of frustration. There are many people in this site that will quickly repsond. It is amazing. Have a great night!

Tim

Congrats Mike and welcome to the family! I enjoyed following the agony/occasional hesitance and worries you had as you were making the purchase decision. It's a big deal - a lot of money upfront and some time commitment to preserve the investment. So you not only have a relationship with your C-Brat family, you now have a relationship with your boat. Like all relationships, you'll get out them what you put into them. Here's to your new boat and a long and happy relationship with it and the brats :cocktail :thup !

Congratulations Mike !!
I can't imagine life without our C-Dory or the C-Brats.
Cathy and I welcome you and hope to see ya on the water.
These are cool boats and an even cooler group of folks !! :smiled

Congrats on the Tomcat! Time and use will show you how much of a boat you have. The C-Brat's website and extended community is among the most important features in the purchase of a C-Dory.

Congratulations, Mike!

Welcome (again) to the family!

Glad you got what you wanted in a C-Dory.

Now the fun begins to make it into your own personalized boat.

Have fun, and ask as many questions as you want!
(We'll send most of them Dr.Bob's way, anyway!).

Joe.

Mike - Congratulations! Obviously you have made a really fun choice.
The group you are joining is liking getting a life time subscription to Wikepedia. You got a question? Someone out there in C-Dory land has the answer. Well, not all the time, but most of the time. Best wishes to you and yours. John & Edna

Well, thanks too all. I am very excited! :)

Over the next couple of weeks or so, the boat is getting all those little issues fixed, a good buff job, complete bow to stern detailing, full service on the motors and new bottom paint.

All in time for spring. I can't wait! :)

Thanks...
