C-Brat Brigner Under the Knife

Jeff,

James 5:16 says, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much". Some people say they'll pray for you but from what I see of the people on this site when they say it they really do. As for me, as soon as I hit send on this rascal I'll be dropping to my knees to send some direct intercessory prayers to the One I call "God"! Let me know if there is anything at all I can do in this time of need, uncertainty and fear.

Your friend,

Charlie Holtom

HOORAY, Jeff -- the whole team was pulling for you, and obviously the Coach, too. Great news and it's made our day!! Take your time and get all back together.

That's good news Jeff!! Get well soon!! Thanks Pat for keeping us posted. It was good to see you both at the SBS. (it was good to see everyone at the SBS!!)

:thup :thup Truly wonderful news! I'm sure the biopsy was a bitch, so we're all sending our best wishes for a very quick healing.

Jim & Joan B.

Jeff, Glad you had a good report. I just got started reading this tonight and said a prayer for you before I got far enough to see the report. That's OK, prayer is never wasted. You get well soon, you have a whole family holding you up for healing.
And thanks, Birdman for passing the word. It was a pleasure to meet you.

Thanks to all. Jeff called me Wednesday evening. Sorry for me not posting earlier, but some things came up on the home front and I had some very time sensitive stuff to deal with.

Jeff is still house in Jackson Hospital in Montgomery AL. He will be there for sure Wed night, possibly a night or two more.

Jim from TX is target on. The biopsy was ruff, and, Jeff may have tried a bit too much too soon as his attempt to make it to a latte' machine did not fair too well.. OK...the Doc said walking gets you to the point of going home. Now, my Brother Jeff liking moderation as much as I do, well,...walked the oxygen right out of his blood cells, so on with a mask, another night or two in Jackson, and with our continued prayers and support... we will get him on the waters real soon.

I know of my boat, Richard & Cherle in Huntsville, Rob and Karen's boat in Franklin, TN, Donna & Rick just our of Montgomery.... are all poised waiting to hear where and when Jeff and us can go for our water fix. Richard in Huntsville on the TN river is pretty much in the middle of our shot group...but, I guess we will yield to where C-Pearl wants to splash. That would have two boats traveling south and two boats traveling a bit north/north east, and Richard picking out the wine and cheese while we are enroute. Just an idea.

Thanks again to all. I will do better at posting sooner next time. Wednesday turned to Thursday on me before I knew it.

Just talked with Cathy Brigner. Jeff had just completed two laps around the hallways, the tubes are un-hooked, and he should be realeased on Friday some time.

We all know how good it will be for him to get back to his own home. They indicated much Thanks for the prayers and thoughts, and feel sure soon after Jeff gets home, a post of his own will be made once he is back on line.

Great news.

Jeff & Cathy
We have been following the postings and praying, all we can think is our
GOD is very gracious. We pray for a swift recovery from the procedure and from all the stress. It was good to see and talk to Jeff at the SBS.
What you both need now is some good boat time!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bob and Betsy Burks

Jeff,
You will still need recovery time in Sunshine, so load up and come on down. We have enough C-Dorys to keep you floating in the sunshine for a month or two.

Mike & Judy

PS: Thanks Byrdman for the updates....it's good to have someone on the inside relaying condition updates. The hardest
part for friends and family is the waiting to hear thingy.

Got a great call from Cathy!

NO CANCER !!!!!

Byrdman

Jeff, So pleased to read Byrdman's report that you're okay and will soon be discharged from the hospital. This is the BEST NEWS we've had since we first learned you were having a biopsy. Our prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery are being sent your way.

Prayers are answered to those who seek and ask.

I see a greater upside to all this. The size of our 'faith family' is not limited by our immediate house of worship and family. Here we have seen an outpouring of prayers to someone several of us have not met, except here on this C-Brat site.

I can't express effectly the warmth I feel for such responses. This group has turned up the wick and became a functional 'prayer chain' to meet the needs of another. This went beyond the call of "just be nice".

Thanks to all of you for allowing me into your lives, also.

Called from Jeff and he is HOME!

Tired, but home. Thanks for the call Brother. It was great to hear from you.

When our old Sunday School class put out the word to get yall a dinner for your first night home as to keep you from having to prep your own meals... you do not realize how close I came to ordering you a nice large, loaded Domino's!!

Here Here Friend :beer :beer

Let me know when you are ready for a little wet hull time.

We have also been thinking about yall & following this thread. Hope you have a speedy recovery and hope to see you all in the spring or summer.

(Thanks Byrdman)

I am practically speechless after reading this thread. Thank you all for your prayers and kindness. The surgeon went after this like it was cancer since every indication leaned that way and there was no way to biopsy this without removing it. I guess this fungus is some pretty bad stuff. If left alone it will continue to grow rapidly, spread to different parts of your body and kill you. He told me another patient had waited too long, it had spread to his brain and that was it. I have a great deal to be thankful for and To God be the Glory !

Cathy and I both thank you for your prayers.

Jeff– I sure am glad everything turned out well for you.

It was a real pleasure visiting with you at the SBS CBGT. I certainly hope to be able to do so again.

May God Bless you and your family.

Jeff, Just because you're home, doesn't mean the prayers stop. there is still healing to be done, and the Master Healer has more for you to do here. You take care of your self and come on back to SBS nest year, we want to hear the rest of the story. God Bless,
and Sea Angel, I agree, it is heart warming to see this unabashed, and diverse group brought together in an hour of need for one of our brothers.

Sea Angel, I am glad you are here and I'm also glad that there are so many others here who share the connections to the source of power available to a prayerful community. ("For where 2 or 3 are gathered, I will be with you.")

Harvey,
I first thought that I should respond with reflective words, but the idea seems so shallow as I reflect on it.

Instead allow me to just thank you for the kind words. We are all but humble servents and encouragers. We never know when an appropriate hug or word is needed unless.....

Again all this is very humbling to me. ALL the glory belongs to GOD.

Sea Angel,

Amen.

It's is just great to see everyone pulling for one of the family. Glad to see that, and thank you for the boost. Heart warming. :hug :hug2
