C-Brat Brigner Under the Knife

Hey Gang. Now that Jeff Brigner has put it out on the wire as to his surgery for possible lung cancer in the morning..... I ask that each of you remember him and Cathy during this time in your prayers. 530am central time, 29Jan08

Jeff and I have become great friends over the past few years thru our times together working Katrina relief for our Church, many road trips together, several C-Brat gatherings together...and many, many good times.

He and Cathy have been there for Sherryl and I when we needed help on some things while we were out of state and simply could not take care of business. They were ever present for us in our absense.

Many C-Brats have shared time with the Brigner's while they were on C-Pearl at gatherings from middle TN to the Gulf, and a couple of trips to our Seattle C-Brat functions. Yep, he hung in there with the proud and the few during the late night hours Friday and Saturday night at the Hawthorne.

Jeff's email to our prayer group:
Hi friends,

Here is the update on my situation. Dr Kwan has scheduled me for surgery early in the morning. Cathy and I will be at the hospital at 5:30 am ( Tuesday January 29 ). If the biopsy does not show cancer then I will be in the hospital overnight. If there is problems then more of my lung will be removed and I will be in the hospital for 4-5 days. Please join Cathy and I in our prayers that this is not cancer.

Thank you,

Jeff Brigner

Jeff, my mother went thru this a few years ago. She had one lob of her lung out , but did have to under go kemo. It took a long time to get back up to speed, but my mother is a do'er and really pushed her recovery. Many Lung cancer survivers she meet in the process did not do as requested by their doctors during recovery and suffer for it. Mom walks everyday just a little farther each time. You really have to work at getting better or you won't. The hardest part on my mom was the unknowing whether or not it was going to come back. but now after four years the docs have given her the all clear. Survivers of anything, cancer, plane wreck, floods etc.. are the ones with a good positive outlook. I hope everything works out for you and I see you on the water this summer.

We'all are in your corner Jeff....and in our prayers....is there anything any of us can do ?? As a group, spread all over the country it is frustrating when you hear one of us is hurting... Please know if we could be there with you we would...

Good Luck Pal

Thanks Byrdman for the information-

Jeff and Cathy,
May the GREAT HEALER grant our prayers for your full recovery, guiding the doctors and care givers through your recovery. We ask that there be a clear reading from the test.

God does look after HIS Own. HIS family stands with you in at least our prayers, and where possible deeds.

Though I received this late Tuesday, You will remain in our prayer list. I pray for your work which is not yet done.

Art & Janet
