Boat Transport needed East to West

I have located a used 22 in CT and we are looking at options for transport from CT to MT. I have a few bids from Uship. Anyone have any first hand experience with Uship shippers? Does anyone on the forum provide transport or relay? I have family and storage in Columbus OH, I may have it delivered to Columbus then fly out to OH rent a truck and tow it to MT. Looking at all the options and open to suggestions. Maybe someone feels like a trip out to Yellowstone.

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin..i used U-Ship to transport my boat from California to where i live in Ontario,Canada. Although i was a little concerned about some-one else hauling my boat across the country there was no problems at all. Everything went as planned and i was very happy with the service i received. Tug

We ship a number of boats, all over . I can put you on some good , careful ,and proven haulers . Just e mail . Trailer needs to really be in good shape . Not "seller's good shape" but "hauler's good shape". The really good haulers will fix whats wrong for you before they leave .

Its only a day's drive from Ct. to Columbus OH. So if you are going to do the driving--take that extra day. But as Marc says, that trailer needs to be in very good shape--and you need extra bearings, a repack before you start--check out the brakes, to be sure that they work, and don't drag.

We have been using U ship with good results to keep our trailer with the boat as we do the geat loop.

When you are shipping the boat and trailer you might try to find someone who will put it all up on their trailer - that is how we shipped Chack Chack cross country from Oregon to New York - then you have no concerns about the current conditon of your trailer and can deal with it when you recieve it at your destination.

This man transports boats for a living. He did mine last year from W. Palm Beach, Fla. to Wenatchee, Wash. It all worked out fine and at a reasonable price.
He used to deliver C-Dorys for the factory.

I have heard good things about Cory's work. He did one for a non-participating C-Dory here on the peninsula last winter.

Cory has hauled many a boat for me . He hauls alot of Ranger Tugs now . I did my best to "introduce him to the family" . His trucks are always loaded with something! He was a Twin Vee Dealer and sold his dealership before things got bad .We knew each other from the days of boat dealer meetings and such . Those days are over .
