Beware of Burgee Shoppe.com

Years ago I ordered a couple of C-Dory burgees from Herb and received them within 30-days. This past March I ordered two more replacements, sending him a check for $124. He claimed he had various set-up and handling fees, but since I was happy with my previous order, I agreed to the price. After many, many e-mails and phone calls, I have yet to receive my order, even though my check was cashed in early April. He now claims (as of June 4th) that while "the plant" is running two months behind, "he thinks" they shipped them the week before. Still no burgees as of June 25th. I've asked for a refund by e-mail, but now nothing but silence. And that's after three months of unanswered phone calls and e-mails. What a bummer this guy turned out to be.

I call that being a thief. I've been burned a few times, especially in the VW world. Lot of cheap ass, scumbag criminals out there.

Why not just order an official one from the real CBRAT guy, Bill, DaNerd, administration for this site? Get the real thing, from a real guy, and not get really stiffed.

If you sent him a check by USPS, go see your local postmaster. Defrauding by mail is a big no-no. I did that when I was a kid, after sending a check to a now long-defunct sleeping bag company. The postmaster wrote them a letter while I was sitting there and I had my check back in short order.

Yes, thanks for the suggestion. A couple of days ago i sent an e-mail saying i would do so, and he actually responded saying he was out of the country and would "check into it" when he returned on July 1. If i don't get my refund within the next 7-days, I'll head for my local post office with all my correspondence.

I did just that. Thanks.

And I too, flaked! Not as badly as the other guy, and I've got good excuses - but you've heard enough of those.

The good news is, your C-Brat burgee goes out today, USPS Priority.

After threatening Burgee.com with a mail fraud report, I received my two C-Dory burgees on July 5th. They were ordered on March 21st. So, case closed. In the meantime i'm looking forward to my new C-Brat burgee.

Well this is interesting. On the run back from Blakely yesterday ( first weekend in the boat in 10 months) The original issue cdog burgee broke off the and sank in 400ft of water. It was a present from Larry and Nancy and has been on the our boat for 5 years at least. It was on there boat for years before that. The burgee was a alaska vet. I have two of the newer ones but I really liked that old design of just a out line of a 22. Well I know who not to buy them from.
