I agree with Patrick on this. Look at all you have learned. Mis-steps are just a part of it. Those caps are meant to go on tightly.

Looks like Patty got the technique down though. Sometimes finesse beats out brute force! :wink:

Another way to avoid this is either finding or making a "tool" that fits over the cap and sits on the lip. You hammer on that and not the cap itself. A large socket would work or a piece of pipe the proper diameter. But looks like you just have to let Patty do it.... :lol:

I appreciate your persistence and being like "a dog with bone, who won't give it up." I have learned a lot from this thread through your experience and everyone else's expertise and suggestions.
