Has anyone tried to build in a Private Potty Room into their camper tent by sectioning of an area just outside the door?

We use this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AT3T0GC?ta ... e=osi&th=1 when taking showers in the cockpit. It could be used as a "Private Potty Room" with the use of a porta-potti.

It is not a "build in" unit but will easily and with-in seconds fold up or down. Stores in a small space. I would not use it in heavy winds! :D

The cockpit floor area is pretty tight and a premium on a 22 Cruiser or 23 Cape Cruiser/Venture. A hard-shelled head in the cockpit would be interesting to see. Good question!

That would make it somewhat difficult to access that side of the boat to forward (outside, what's the term for the gunwale walkway?), but I suppose that could be dealt with, with some planning.

I guess that is a significant thought. But the other side is still free and the forward hatch works for some folks. Hmmm, will have to think it through.

On our 22, we simply stored the porta potti under the V-Berth during the day. If it had to be used, just moved the cushion above it. At night, we would just put it in front of the cabin door. (We had curtains on the windows that we closed at night. That doesn't offer privacy per se for those in the cabin.) But worked fine for just my wife and I.

Same here. Also, in remote anchorages and good weather, the porta-potti can just be put and used in the cockpit.

Always used in the cabin. We had matress toppers (gel foam) on the V berth and usually kept it made up. Just pulled the porta potty out in the open, and used it there.

Marie passed the test on our first trip to Catalina. Open 18' runabout, deep V. I had forewarned to do relief before we left the marina. Half way there (about an hour out) she had to go. I handed her a beach towel and told her to hang behind over the side. Passed and 48 years later we still do that at times.

I agree with Dr. Bob. We do what he did. But use a 5 gallon bucket of your choice with a little bit of water. (same as hanging it over the side)

If you get a camper top for the cockpit from King Marine Canvas in Seattle (they are the local go to for C-Dory tops) they can also make opaque "privacy" sides that zip to the top. We have them, and they fully enclose the cockpit for complete privacy.

Kind of close quarters. Thanks for the photo.

Not sure how to post an image. But this picture was recently on C-Brats of someone who added a head to a 22 Cruiser.
