Ari the 19 Angler

We lasted a couple of years with a day boat and used it often but we couldn't live without overnighting any longer. The former R-Matey 19 will now be known as "Ari" and is currently undergoing some reconditioning and the first of many renovations and modifications to become the most feature laden 19 on the water. But hopefully not the heaviest. Hope to have it out on the water in about a month.

The Lund is for sale.....

Congratulations on the 19! She's a great boat and should do well for you. Good to see you in another C-Dory! :thup

Happy New Year!

Wow! This is wonderful. We're so happy for you :D We've missed R-Matey more than you'll ever know....she's often a daily topic of discussion around here. Six and one-half years we had her and she went everywhere the 22s & 25s went. She's a safe boat and weathered quite a few storms.

Do you still have that new prop we sold you a couple of years ago? We'd bought it for R-Matey as a backup. Are the storage lockers still in the cockpit? They also served as steps in and out of the boat. The first buyer wanted to remove them as they got in the way of his fishing. I think he also removed the port side seat.

We didn't know she was for sale....and BTW I never de-christened her......Looking forward to seeing you and 'Ari'

Hi Joe,

It was listed only on Craigslist and we were very happy to find it. We were planning to get a 19 but never thought we would be so lucky as to find yours! We plan to have a full weatherproof camper canvas built and prop the doors open most of the time to have one enlarged heated cabin. But being able to shut the doors and secure the boat cabin section is a nice option to have available when needed.

The cockpit storage boxes were removed unfortunately for fishing space and port storage cubby back there was removed and replaced with a larger tackle storage center. There are also two folding but removeable seats mounted to the bulkhead on each side of the door. It has a couple of cracked windows and rusting fasteners on the bulkhead and various other locations but overall its still in good shape. There are still two seats in the cabin and I have your binder and the window shades. That spare prop went with Aurelia so I will need to get another.

There was also a big plywood transom table bolted on that I have already liberated from the boat. Two half days of cleaning and dismantling completed so far. We have quite a list of things we plan to change with one of the first being selling the heavy 8hp kicker and buying a Torqeedo 1003. I also need to reinstall the swim step that luckily came with the boat.

Busy times ahead,

Greg

Way to go Greg, Cindie and Aven! You bought a great boat! Although you never really left, welcome back to C-Dory ownership. It sounds like the perfect boat for you and your family.

Welcome back with a C-Dory, although you always did have one, with the skiff you brought to Friday Harbor!
I wonder if Rob Moore still has the storage boxes. He is "Neblig" on the site.
Looking forward to seeing your mods and all of you soon!

Way to go Guys!
I miss that boat all most as much as Ruth does. A lot of good water under that bow. You will have many fine times ahead. I'll look for you on the waters of the south sound.
Rob
