Antifatigue Floor Squares

C Brats I once again seek your council 8) . I've seen a lot of pictures of boat flooring on this sight, and what I would like to find are the White rubber floor mats that are squares with inter locking tabs. The ones I'm looking for are equally sized squares that I would trim to fit. The recent article I saw them in was the Older Boaters forum that showed the various ladders that were made to step down into the boat, and it seemed most of the floors had the square mats. This will be my final touchs on getting my boat ready for travel. Thank you dear friends and I'll see some of you at Octobers Gulf Gathering. Thanks Cliff

Think about how you are going to keep the deck clean. There is always some kind of "mung" that gets on the deck and is stepped on and squished into the cracks etc. THat is the reason I do not have it on my boat.
It does look nice when clean.

We use Dri-Dek which has worked out well. The Pros, it's easy to install, you just cut to fit and it looks great, when clean like Jack mentioned. The Cons, dirt, grime and assorted fish blood etc does fall down through the tiles and causes a big mess. That's why I finally got smart and removed it when we were fishing. The floorboards on our 2005 CD22 are much easier to keep clean without the Dri-Dek. When we use the boat to cruise, it's very easy to keep clean and looks great!

Jack thank you. I was a career Recording Engineer & sound man I really dig your band and your touch. Dick Hymen & Bill Evans are favorite players for me. :note

I went with the black (rather than white) interlocking rubber squares, don't show so much grunge. Mine have been down for two seasons now and still do not need lifting for cleaning underneath. But then I don't fish. Those guys seem to get blood and snot everywhere.

Any incoming, I'm safe, I got my bike helmet on :P

Martin.

We used the black antifatigue mats that can buy at Lowes or Home Depot in our TC24. They are much cheaper than the alternatives and work well. At the end of each season, I would pull the squares and powerwash the cockpit. Stuff did build up over the season, but it never looked very bad.

jimicliff, I believe you were directing your comments to me. If so, thanks for the compliment. :D If not, way to go Jack! :wink

BTW, I love Bill Evans!

In the cockpit I have used the black mats over dri deck in the older 22. In the newer 22, we just have a nice cheap carpet. We didn't have much of a problem with the foam--we would wash the foam down.

In The Hull Truth, "Sea Shocks" seem to be very popular. Anything from horse stall mats to Aqua shocks are also mentioned. I sit most of the time, or if standing, leaning on the seat or a leaning post with my knees bent to absorb shocks.
