Another interesting Boat

I was reading latest new Boat Us rag and saw this boat. This type of boat with a small galley would be a nice direction for a small boat builder to maybe move into being the small looper ride type competition. They mention modular construction so I assume they have flexablitity in their interior layouts for your particular style or fishing habits. I thought it looked like a great small cruiser that would offer quite a bit more performance than a Cutter or Ranger Tug if you wanted it. It might give the Ranger guys a little competition for that size trailerable cruiser. At twenty eight feet should still be trailer trash. I thought it was a breath of fresh air. I myself would probably not spring for one but I thought it packed a fair amount into 28'. It seems like the bigger boat builders are scaling down as fuel prices and folks new to boating might be more comfortable with a smaller footprint both in physical size and a smaller impact on your remaining Benjamin’s.

That is an interesting design. Am I missing where the galley is located? I really like the idea of helm and co-pilot seats that rotate to allow facing the dinette area. Most smaller boats could really use improvements in ergonomics.

Thanks for posting the link.

I did not see a galley either, I assume since they said these were of modular construction they could make a galley happen. Looks like a side door or doors, to the house. The ladder up the side for access to the roof or flying bridge seemed like a nice idea, easiler to get to your bikes. Maybe some new ideas for Les if he can get past the 25 foot boat thing.

interesting but in the end its just a fishing boat with a bed. I have no idea how anyone seating at the inside table is going to get out of the cabin unless the people in the chairs get out first. no place to cook, you would have to use a bbq. the seating in side is really tight and no on can go out the side door with out some one else moving first. seems like they wasted a lot of usable room trying to stay with a walk around layout resulting in a small cabin.

Smaller then my boat and lighter but rated for 400hp?? I'm over powered at 225hp now. I don't think its going to be a gas sipper in the way we think about it. if you are coming down from a 40ft sport fisher battle wagon that burns 100 gallons a hour then sure 20 gph sounds great. Make a great dinghy for a mega yatch.

Looks to be a good two person fishing boat that allows you to over night or just get out of the sun/rain on the run out and back.

The air hull is a great idea taken from the race industry but how are you going to get any signal return on the depth finder if you are flooding the aft hull with air???

No bagging the boat its just me wondering why???

Those Minor boats look pretty serious. Strong resemblance to the Barracuda from Beneteau. I wonder if Minor builds it for them?
