Anchor/steaming light question on CD 16

Two questions actually:

1. There are two rubber grips next to the hull above the v-berth on the port side that hold the bow light when not in use. I expected the same for the anchor/steaming light but they aren't there. Do the 16s all have these storage clips? Do they have them for one or both lights? Seems odd to have them for just one.

2. On the bow light fitting there is an attached little black rubber plug to cover the receptacle when the light is stowed. There is not similar plug for the anchor light. Is this another oversight or is it just missing on my boat? (I bought the boat new)

Thanks!

On most boats there are usually fixed foreward navigation lights. The reason that removable lights are usually used is in fishing boats where you want a clean deck--but even there often the nav lights are recessed. The disadvantage of removable bow lights is that water gets into the socket and corrosion occurs. Yes, there should be a cover for both the bow and stern light. There should be brackets for both the bow and stern lights. Page 457 of 2010 West Marine Catalogue has these clips for about $7. I would use corrosion block or silicone grease on the contacts in the deck to prevent corrosion. [/list]

We have two pairs of rubber clips where you have one, came from the factory that way. The cover for the anchor light is a black, threaded cap. Ours is mounted below the key switch with a yellow sticker obove it. If you do not have one, I have heard that a plastic pop bottle cap will fit. We changed our nav. light to a permanent mount for convenience. Stayed with removeable anchor/steaming light so we can carry the WM Mini-Dinghy on the cabin top.
