Always tell the crane operator the correct boat weight

What do you suppose the response was when the crane operator's wife asked, "So, how was your day at work?"

Looks like both boat and crane got lucky on that one. Could have been WAY worse.

A couple of years ago I was hanging around the marina at Skyline when a boat in the 28' range slipped out of the hoist sling and fell to the concrete walkway below. Broke the back of the boat (internally) and it had to be declared a total loss. It was a self-launch hoist, not the TravelLift, so no recourse to Skyline!

I don't see the problem in this one. The boat wound up floating in the water, the crane(s) stayed on the dock. Looked perfect to me!
Bet the crane operator had to go home and change clothes.

I would imagine it was something like "Shut up and get me some clean shorts..." :cry
