Just kidding....to slow to be a C-Dory. Just made an offer on this one. Will let you know how it goes. It's got a laundry list of new items on it, as well as new paint. She's a looker.

Looks like a Willard 30. I've always had a soft spot for them, and they are on my "if I were going to just boat in the Puget Sound/Salish Sea/Inside Passage/Alaska" short list. (And obviously you could spend a lifetime there.) Very nice!

I will have a signed around P and S agreement today. Our plan is to sea trial her on Friday and take delivery the same day. I am working out the logistics of the money end as he wants funds in Canadian. Other than that our first trip will be about 160 miles from where it's located to it's new home port!

You are more than welcome to view and come for a ride once we have it. This week we will be picking out new interior canvas as the current was 40 years old. Also adding a back cockpit cover in short order. Than auto pilot!

Beautiful boat! Might be slower than a C Dory but the full displacement, double ended hull will give you a very comfortable and sea kindly ride. Enjoy the ride and a piece of history!

Doug, who had a C-Dory Liberty Call, sold it and got a Willard. I think he still has it and Brownsville, WA Marina is his moorage. Also Clyde Ford, the Novelist has one in Bellingham. He was a "neighbor" of Joe And Ruth threre.

In the next one to two days a survey will be completed. I unfortunately will not be with the boat when done as it's over a 5 hour drive from here. I will be inspecting the boat come Friday and taking delivery the same day.

I just followed the 2 links you posted and viewed all the pictures. I am seriously impressed!! Having done some restoration work myself - both on boats and cars, I appreciate the effort that went into this 40 year old boat. After viewing all the pictures I could not spot one area that had been missed or glossed over. If I had put all that effort into a boat it would brake my heart to sell it!! :cry

Absolutely love the hull design! With the sail up to steady it - you will have a VERY SEAWORTHY BOAT. The Yanmar is also a choice power option. Lots of other good diesels available but the Yanmar is well proven and one of the quietest running.

Regards, Rob

That is funny, I know the history of that boat... I first saw it in a boatyard in Channel Islands long ago, and it was a mess....the original owner had great intentions and just gutted it out.... he must have spent a ton of time ripping stuff out because it was down to the bones...
Then something happened at the yard and he had to sell it or they would...and it was so cheep that I thought about it but being it was so gutted it needed a total rebuild...of everything... whoever bought it, or maybe the yard did a first class job....I have seen it several times on the water and it is beautiful....whoever did it, did a quality restoration... did not cut corners and it probably is better quality than when it was new.
