Any of these seem like "red flag" issues?
One of the boats has rust on the exit drain hole from the sink. What would cause that??
One of the boats has a broken bunker on the trailer... I guess the wood platform just broke... Is that a big deal to fix?
One of the boats has the silver plastic film on the Honda completely flaking/stripping off and looks like hell.... can this be fixed?
Lots of rusted lug nuts... I'm thinking this is just usual maintenance?
The hydraulic steering on the Venture seems to have a lot of play in it... we are used to our sailboat diesel steering so we don't know if this is typical outboard or if there is some other issue... I have read on here something about "bleeding" hydraulic steering which sounds simple... is the play in the steering related to the "need to bleed"?
The C-22 is in primo condition but it doesn't have the "right stuff" on it for us...and yet has lots of "stuff" that someone spent a lot of money on for fishing, so that adds to the cost. However if we add and subtract, the boats are priced similarly.
We want to tow these with a 2008 Toyota Sequoia, V8, rated for 8000 lbs.
Both owners are here on C-Brats so I dont' want to ask any questions that point to their boats. They have both been really great to deal with and we think that the best part of choosing a C-Dory is going to be belonging here... how can you value that into any decision??
Thanks again!!
