Looking into C-22s and noticed all the berths are 6'2". Was wondering how sleeping was for folks over 6''3". Inputs from you tall folks would be appreciated.
I understood that the 22 cruiser has a v-berth 6' 4" long. I am 6' 0" tall (well I used to be when I was younger....lol). My head is just short of the wiring behind the helm and my feet just come up short of the anchor locker. My wife being 5' 7" means there is plenty of space between her feet and the anchor locker. Sometimes I may sleep on a bit of an angle, lot's of room.
am 6'3" and sleep on the non-helm side with not problems along that port side wall. The slight angle increases the length a little and it works great for me.
The berth on the 25 is slightly larger than the 22. I am 6'2" and have plenty of room, since I also sleep on the port side, diagonally--feet to the bow.
My son who is 6'4" and about 240# feels cramped in the 22, but finds the 25 OK. He is considering buying a 25 after having used my 25 in the past.
I am 200lbs and just short of 6'-5" and have no trouble sleeping in the 22, although there is no room to spare.
Getting in and out of the V-berth takes a bit of patience.
My position while sitting at the helm with little to no headroom on rough seas is much more difficult to deal with than the tight space in the V-birth.
A 25 would be better suited for tall people for sure.
We did what Joe (Sea Wolf) suggested with our 22. If someone wanted to push the sliding seat aft, build a small platform and use the seat backrests as cushions, a 7' er could probably sleep there.
I have a 1987 22' cruiser, 6'4", 230 lbs, wife is shorter sleeps starboard side I sleep port side, both of us in berth have plenty of room. I stretch out, no prob.
