We are currently at 4999 registers users on the C-Brats web site. We need to do something to celebrate the 5000th member. Can any one say PARTY !!!
a big thank you to Bill (DANAG) and Mike (TYBOO). You guys ROCK

Wow! And there are even some of us who remember the origin of the Brat site, and the reason for the name Brats. Wonder how many C-Dogs are still around and active on the site. Perhaps we are now of 'an age' to have a Brat historian?

For some of us around back then, memories are perhaps clouded by time or even emotions. But, isn't all history?

Yup! I remember -- now if I could just remember my name and Diane's birthday.

Love The Brat site and my Bratty friends,

Dusty

Many, many thanks to Bill (DANAG) and Mike (TYBOO)! :thup :beer :beer :thup

Because of this site I bought a C-Dory. Because of the C-Dory my life has been changed for the better.

I betcha there's alot more work being done on this site than we care to know. Thanks, guys! I may even put a "Good Karma" tip in the jar. :D

Some of you might remember this Tyboo-approved history, which I called "What's in a Name"?

5000 is nice but it'd be even nicer if the 2278 members (of those 5000) would participate. That's how many have registered and never posted even once. I'm sure they could add something..

Thanks, Pat, for the historical update -- my, how time erases events from the past. How can an historian of the Roman times have a chance at getting at half the reality of that long-ago time when I don't clearly remember the events of DOGS/BRATS years. Yes, we were members of both for awhile since we tried to stay clear of much of the controversy and wanted to continue hearing news and ideas from friends. Much easier and more pleasant now with one respectful crew. And our thanks to those who have made it so -- both to the managers and the participants.

how many were also "C Dogs"

Boy, I remember the day I clicked on the C-Dog shortcut and it was...GONE.

Cast adrift with no port in sight I floundered about until, one day, SALVATION. A NEW site with familiar names and some new ones too. :smiled

I joined the C-Dogs in 2001 and brought my Classic 22 from that site in 2002, sight unseen from a nice fellow in Illinois. Boat was more than i expected.

C-Brats was started on Oct. 23, 2003, I joined Nov. 2nd 2003. Brat No. 67.

The 1000th brat joined in june 2005 and Tybo held a lottery of C-Dory owners and guess what I won, two nice C-Dory jackets ( thanks Tybo). This is the only site I visit every-day. C-Otter

It would be interesting to know how many were also "C Dogs" continue on this site--count me in--but toward the last.

Well Dr Bob, I am also an old C Dog. I enjoyed both sites. My wife and I fell in love with the design the first year we moved to Florida.

Joefish this site is one of the reasons I also bought my boat with out any reservations. And yes, lets not forget to thank DANAG and TYBOO

I bought my 1987 CD-22 in 1998 and joined whatever was available as soon as I found it, but can't remember the year.

There were two different C-Dog sites on MSN, following each other, before the C-Dog split with Dale (Fishwisher), and the aftermath when Ken Mc________{?} from New Mexico continued the C-Dog site for a few years as the C-Brat site took off.

I always regretted the loss of all the opinions, threads, and photos when a site was scuttled, but sooner or later everything is brought up again and recycled for the benefit of the new members joining.

Joe. :teeth :thup

Saw my first c-dory on the old c-dog site. I believe it was some crazy from Alaska that was hunting for moose out of his boat. yeah you know how you are. Long story with the picture about hunting and live in the boat for weeks with his girlfriend. I think he has had three of four girl friends and two engines since then but still has the same boat. It was that photo of the moose (or bear?) on the dory that got me reading about them.

Dang, you just made me look it up, and I had to change my sig! I am actually Brat #62 - it had said #67 for years and you never called me on it!

A lot of folks "joined" on 2 Nov 20003! Maybe that was the day that the "word was out" on the C Dog site about the alternate? We also "joined" then, but had purchased our 22 from Ken in New Mexico--who was moderator of the C Dogs at the time we purchased the boat in spring/summer 2002. I don't know when I joined the C Dogs---but it was at least 6 months before purchasing the boat. A neighbor had one of the 22's--but I was already looking for one.

All I can say, as a C-Dory owner in the middle of the Atlantic (Bermuda) I'm most appreciative of the C_Brats site.

My boat wouldn't be half the craft that it is without all the borrowed ideas (and maybe I have contributed a few too), nor would I have had half as much fun putting it all together.

So, thanks Brats and keep up the good work.

Peter

I started in the C-Dog site. But the C-Brats has turned into a primo site for us CD owners and I appreciated all the effort put into it by Mike & DaNag. Thanks.

Jack

Yep have looked at c-dorys on and off for quite awhile purchased a 1987 22' angler in 2008 after coming onto the c-brats sight and enjoying all the info posted here have used it for salmon, crab out of fort Bragg, Bodega Bay fishing up in the delta for sturgeon, stripers the bay for halibut.

Saw my first C-Dory in 2002 and learned about the C-Brats in 2005. Found my C-Dory just down the road late that year. the Brats have become family and rarely a day goes by without a look. Have been some changes over the time, life, job and family but you all have been here and hung in there with the "Just be nice" theme and make it worth coming back over and over again. Thanks to each and special thanks to Mike and Bill for all they do here. Just think what those 2278 non-participating members are missing. Glad you are part of the other set.
