Which tires???? My originals lasted 12 years, and the ones I have, well they are starting to crack and separate after only 4 years. Any ideas of which ones to get? Which ones tow the best?

My recent experiences are that radial tires tow the best. Almost all are made in China today--and each brand has had its detractors. In the past Good Year Marathons were considered the best--however there have been recent reports of less than satisfactory service.

Be sure the tire is ST rated (Trailer)--but there are reports, especially on single axle trailers that truck tires are working well.

My last purchase of GY Marathons, in 2009, were made in China. Can't get away from that.
I think Bob is correct.......truck tires in "D" range are the way to go.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you brats.

You can see if Carlisle makes a radial trailer tire in your size. We switched to them last year and although we have only put about seven or eight thousand miles on them. We trailered to Yellowstone and back to Pa. so the tires saw a little bit of everything as we left in the beginning of August (heat). I usually pull the boat in between 65 and 70 mph. We love the switch to radials and they were about 400 dollars mounted and balanced for a set of four. So far so good.

Thanks for taking the time to respond and for sharing your ideas.

As it turns out, the only brand that the local tire store had was goodyear, so goodyear I got. And I paid too much for them at 180 bucks a tire before mounting and balancing......Ah, the joys of Wasilla, Alaska......But, at least it is done :)
