2003 22' Cruiser Hi Top

For someone who wants to work on a boat, this is going to be a good buy---but a number of unknowns. How much damage to the stern where apparently there was a major ding...the transom, the motors are the big one... Figure two new 40's? somewhere about $12,000 to $15,000. Defender has both Honda and Tohatsu for in the low 6K range each... Mercury in the low $5,000 range.

Post already deleted from CL.

From the pictures, it looks to me like the tabs were installed and then removed and the mounting holes filled.

Think your boat is too small to cruise to Alaska? Think again. This seminar chronicles my trip from Anacortes to Glacier Bay in a 22' C-Dory and includes tips to make the trip safely and comfortably. Seattle Boat Show...this is the boat in post subject

Are you saying that this is Sam Landsman's "Retriever". for $15,000? Sam's boat had a single 90, I believe that this boat had two 40's...I could not compare the reg numbers, because the CL post was deleted.

That does appear to be the boat used by Paul Souder. It is an interesting read. He apparently owned the boat at least from 2007 thru 2015. Is he the one who sold the boat? He mentions using it for 11,000 miles, both above the Arctic circle and Inland Passage.

Thanks for finding that!

Thanks for finding that!

From his blog, Souder says, "I’ve often compared her to a VW camper of the sea, but without the Teutonic design excellence, mechanical reliability or Grateful Dead stickers."

About the purchase, he says, "I bought my C-Dory used from Pastor Kirby in the summer of 2007. To his credit, he never actually said he only sailed it to church on Sundays. In a bit of Lutheran humor he dubbed her C-Sick."

Cleverly written site, with lots o' pretty pix.
