The Tom Cat has a lot going for it any way you cut it. (We took it to the launching ramp today, to trailer it to have some glass work done, which was a result of factory goof--on my nickel). I have been following the Freemans thru THT (As well as the Americats). The Tibona seems a bit dissapointing. I had looked at the NautiCats (which the Tibona is a "take off of"--I suspect he bought the molds) before purchase of my Caracal (the identical boat is the Carolina Cat--new manufacturer). My Caracal at only 18 feet, seems to perform as well--but good cruise speed is 5 knots faster, and I seem to be getting over 4 miles per gallon.
