Got a line on a 19. Can owners please comment? I will be using this boat on
the Chesapeake Bay. I have a Trophy at the beach in DE and want a boat for home and the winter months. 90 hp Honda 2005, boat and motor. You can look at the info on the for sale listings.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Bill

Have only owned a 22, but the 19 is very similar--with the 90 hp and a 50 gallon tank, it should be a great boat for your purposes. For the winter you probably will want a canvas back. Also very easy boat to trailer down to Florida when it gets too cold!

The price looks very right.

C-Dory, any length, is a GREAT boat for the Chesapeake! The Chesapeake is a great place to cruise, going up the rivers and creeks of the Eastern Shore to anchor. Listen to Tom McHugh! Those of you who are there, do EVERYTHING YOU CAN to save the Chesapeake - I am serious about this. Here is a shot I took at Rock Hall, MD, in June of 2005.

On edit - Mike - what happened to the Delete button????

Pat - Have you tried tipping your head back and looking through the bottom of your glasses? I can still see the little X upalongside the Edit button.

Bill, This looks like a well set up boat at a good price. If you have never been in a CD 19, I would see if you can test drive this one, and maybe stop by Cutter Marine on your way to Elkton and look over a 22. I think the 19 would be a great boat for the Bay, but I am a 19 fan. It really meets my needs for the kind of boating that I do.

I am in Baltimore right now, and I am missing my boat!!!!!!! Tell you what. You buy the 19, and I will go for a ride with you and tell you over and over what kind of a good deal you got. Robbi

Thanks for the replies folks. Yeah, I know the 19 does not have the rear bulkhead enclosure as the 22, and that in part is what prompted the request from owners.
Robbi, you are a long way from home and your boat and if I do buy, the first ride is yours - uh, after my wife!!!
But the whole package seems to fit what I want to do and how I want to use the boat.
I have spent the last 10 years looking at these boats and have been to Cutter's. I've looked at shows and yearned.
This may be the time to do it.
I like my Trophy, but this is the dream vessel. The Trophy will stay at the beach, and this will get me back on the Chesapeake, after 7 years of not having a boat here.
Thanks again for your replies and keep them coming.
Bill

Bill - if you wait for all t,s to be crossed, all i's to be dotted and all questions are answered you will miss several more years of boating enjoyment. Sooner or later you have to make a leap in faith and just do it.

Great photo on the other thread. Can you give me some performance figures? Ya know mileage and top speed and stuff?
Thanks,
Bill

Bob,
My son will be going to FSU Business School starting in January and it would make a great trip and meet up with you.
Love to ride the cat.

Since you own a Trophy I assume you are a fisherman at heart. The 19 IMHO is almost the perfect fishing boat in some respects. The open back and large cockpit make the 19 a better boat for fishing than the 22'. And when equiped with the drop down curtain you still have some cold weather comfort although not as nice as the 22'.

For day use and fishing I don't see how you could go wrong. But it would be a bit small for extended cruising IMHO.

Bill,
Happy to give you a ride in the Cat--but I have to warn you I am in Pensacola--which is a ways from FSU (University of West Florida is in Pensacola)--on the other hand, Camp Thataway always has room for guests!

Haven't crunched mileage numbers yet - Top speed at WOT seems to be around 35ish wih the Honda 90, although with my 4 yr old along everytime so far I haven't really had a whole lot of time to play with optimum trim settings, etc.

Thanks folks for the replies.
I'm going to look at her this week and do a test ride.
Will post my q's then
Thanks again for a great group.
