10/19 - 10/21 - Second Annual Gulf Coast Gathering

Just hanging out at John's place and talking with the C brats is entertainment in its self. Does Sherry have her Gallery up and running yet? If so a trip to it may be interesting. I think that the gang last year enjoyed the river cruise.

I have asked Gibby [ the fellow who spoke about the river last year] to come and speak again . Sherry's project is coming along well . Im sure she will give the tour to anyone interested . if the weather is anything like it is now [temp wise] it will be great!
Marc

I am soooo embarassed :embarrased Now everyone will know I'm the kind of guy who only comes around to the C-Brats site when he wants something. And since I haven't had any burning questions on CD maintenance or whatnot for a long time, I totally missed hearing (well, seeing) that another Gulf Coaster was in the works. Thanks for the tip off, Byrdman. Y'all blame him if it was supposed to be a secret :wink

Patty has the non-refundable plane ticket sort of committment that weekend. But last year was too much fun not to do again. I'm actually kicking around the notion of coming stag. Me and Fishwife, without the wife. Whole v-birth to myself. Kind of scary. I'll make my sign-up yes or no as soon as I can.

Skip, I was gonna call you this week . Im glad Byrdman was on top of it ! Bring the "Floating Man Shack" on down and we will have us a good ole time ,with or without Patti[although we would really rather her be here] !
Marc

Another news update on the entertainment front . There will be a 2 day outdoor blues festival in Apalachicola Fri. from 6-10P.M. and Sat from noon to 10 P.M. We will have a River Taxi available to get back and forth to down town Apalach on the river if anybody is interested , which will allow one to leave their boat at John's or the Hotel and get to the downtown area for blues, shopping , whatever OR up to Johns while leaving their boat tied up .
We are looking forward to seeing a good crowd and there seems to be no shortage of events .
Marc

Hey Skip... Do hope you can make it. I may be solo too....or drag another family member along. Sherryl has some mandatory fun at her office that weekend. May even just launch the boat in the Eastpoint area and boat about the area for the week....and if there is a good boat parade heading west Sunday afternoon....join them and work out some type of shuttle for tow vehicles with folks that live west of Eastpoint... We can figure all that out Fri/Sat once on site.

Marc...read between the lines...no fish caugth yet on this boat.... Might need to wet some lines Wednesday late afternoon...Thursday....ish.

After a nice informal eating Fri/Satnight.... the blues stuff down town sounds as if it would be fun too.

Sure do miss the Gulf...but will be there soon.

Well...after pondering a bit....I realized that my friend and river traveling buddy Bill had just recently went thru heart by-pass surgery...to include a new 3 speed pace maker.

So, I quickly called Miss Brenda to make sure all was well... (foot in mouth opportunity there) She ain't trading him now after his new upgrade work.

I will let him and Miss Brenda explain the speeds dockside....but they may have to borrow the Brigner's (C-Pearl) Twister game.... Yes...there is more to this story...but you would have needed to have been on last Fall Cumberland River cruise...

I have chruned the pot....I will let them tell their own stories... :embarrased :thup :xnaughty

Bill and Brenda , you are good to go for the 18th at the Water Street Hotel .
There are limited rooms and I need to know who wants rooms that does not have them already . I have 2 rooms reservations left for Fri and Sat. There is a wedding in town and they will sell out .Here is a list of those reservations I have

Thanks for your help on this Marc. Just to clarify please... I understood that with the hotel reservations, we had a slip...and then are the 4 other slips in addition to the hotel guest with reservations?

Any of the locals I know getting married? Hope ol Harry aint giving up.. he would have to get a bigger boat for them to live on.

Byrdman

Thanks for the clarification and follow up Marc. I have a fine place to sleep and shower, but was really just getting it to allow more room in John's harbor. Looking forward to the answer.

Looks as if I'll have to bring my own "heart healthy" food....But it will be a great time. Bill and Brenda, we will probably pass you on Frid AM. We won't get back from S. Calif until mid week--and then some Dr's apts.

Just got back from Catalina--Buccaneer's days--expected 6,000 souls at the Isthmus--and small craft warnings, so the Gulf Coast will be a real contrast!
