Jim and Loree, look forward to seeing you again . Jim, on your posts it says "Jim will retire in 2007" Youre gonna run out of 2007 soon ! Should we make it a retirement party as well ?

I have secured some rooms at our new and very nicely done , Water Street Hotel and Marina http://www.waterstreethotel.com/ .It is not far from the festivities and if one is without boat and wants to attend in style [including water taxi service ,courtesy of Wefings] give me a call and we will nail a room down for you .If you do have a boat and just want your own premium spot for a night , you can tie up there and rejuvenate . This place has raised the bar for accommodations in our area , and especially for boaters . I would like to extend an invitation for someone from the C Dory factory to attend our gathering [ maybe Scot ? ] . I will make sure you are taken care of in the finest C Brat fashion !

Im hammering the Water Street Hotel for a good rate . Ill post as soon as I get it . I have a number of rooms reserved and it is a beautiful place with slips , so let me know if want to stay there . I have Fri. and Sat nights .reserved. I think our new C Dory rep will be there . He is a very nice guy , and he can learn the C Brat way of relaxing !

We are starting to plan our trip. Do you have any GPS coordinates for John's house or is there a docking area you want us to use? First timer question? Is there a agenda or loose plan? We my get there on Thursday.

Pretty loose on the agenda so far , we will of course have feasts planned for Fri and Sat evenings as well as breakfasts Sat and Sun . Saturday is the Apalachicola Riverkeepers River Expo ,so we might tie in with that . Ill try to have someone interesting speak or some entertainment of some sort Sat, plus you can always sit back and listen to Byrdman stories !!
Johns house is just west of the railroad bridge that crosses the Intracoastal/Apalachicola River . It hard to miss . Go to the album from last years gathering and you will see what the place looks like . I will post road directions soon as well . We might have a "dock fishing" tournament as well

Special "Gulf Coast Gathering" rate for Water Street Hotel is $129.00 Thats 40 bucks off the normal rate . I cant stress how nice this place is enough.......

Let's try this... Found the place I feel sure John's house is on the water just up river from the train bridge. Attempted to cut-n-paste the sat pic...but no good.

Here is the link: http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmI ... 5146&mag=1

Looking at the link, if the cross hair of the aiming site is the coordinates, it "should be" about 85.037.055 x 29.765.146

If not... go up river past the train bridge, and look to the left desending bank. Big beautiful wood home with greeting dock out front and small cove just shy of that dock for boats to pull into. Real neat place.

Now...John's Place is not the bar just off the Tennessee Tech campus in Cookville, TN... Not that I ever hung out there. Mom thought it was the local bank due to the checks cashed there.

Yes...a good time will be had for sure. Waters are changing up here...as are my plans... Sherryl and I have been invited to do a site visit at the new Marriott Bay Side Resort & Spa for 12-14Oct as to give her an opportunity to see the facility for possbile conference use. I will be forced to bring my boat to the Gulf Coast a week earlier with this new update, and the fact that they are taking the waters out of Lake Martin rendering most docks/ramps un-useable... the rivers heading down the east side of AL are too shallow.... so I will just be forced to bring Sherryl home on the 14th, return on the 15th....and boat about the area and cruise on over east a bit to the gathering. So... who all wants to cruise the gulf a bit in the Panama City-East Point FL area for the week of 15-18 prior to the gathering on the 19-21st??

Brydman,

My wife, Andrea, and I will be renting Marc's Das Boot during October 14-21 and will be cruising the area. I have read some of your posts on the C-Brats site and would like to hook up with you for a bit if possible.

We live in East Tennessee on the Tennessee River (Watts Bar) and are thinking about becoming a C-Dory owners.
