09/23 - Lake Powell 2017

For those who would like to cruise Lake Powell in the fall let's set a date for Saturday the 23rd of September to meet at Oak Canyon. Can we get one of the admins to setup a signup list so we can see who's interested. Fall is a great time to cruise the lake and the water might be a little higher this year if they don't dump it all to Mead.

We spent last week at Lake Powell. Six great days 80's in the days and 60's at night. The lake came up about 3 feet while we were there. We beat the Memorial Day crowd and had every canyon almost to ourselves.

We will probably be on the Trent Severn, Rideau or Erie canal in late September if plans work out.
 
A lot of "ifs" involved with us, as to whether we'll make it this year or not. JoLee is still recovering from foot surgery's with back acting up from being to inactive during the recovery periods & she may need one more surgery. Then if all goes well still don't know if we will be back from a rv trip to Newfoundland in time. If so we most likely will make it. We sure love the Lake Powell Gatherings.

The lake has made it to 3625.11 elevation the last time it was there was August 20th of 2012 hoping for another 10 - 15 feet. There will be a whole new lake to explore.
 
We plan to join the Lake Powell cruise in September. We were there in March. The water was so low we were barely able to make it back to the sand dune in Oak Canyon so it will be interesting to visit the lake with a higher water level.

Well, we're thinking about it again. If we make it, it would be mid to early Sept, possibly leaving prior to the gathering. We need to be in Iowa NLT 9/26.

So, a definite... Maybe...
 
We are interested in going to Lake Powell in The middle to late September
to sea test our new to us 25. I know others are going but I don't see a
signup page for a gathering. Who and how many are thinking of going
this year? Have been to the lake before with other brats and it was a
very great trip thanks to them. Chris where you???
 
For some reason the admin persons don't want a Lake Powell gathering. They have refused several requests this year and in 2016 to post a sign up sheet.

Unfortunately Chris dropped off the radar several years ago, shortly after he retired and moved to Oregon. Still a great place.

Most of the time, folks make it or not--as per the arrangements--without a sign up sheet--and have a great time. Wish we could come...But no mas.
 
Both this year and last year Jody set a date and requested a sign up sheet. None appeared. We went anyway & had a good time.

This year Jody requested a sign up sheet and after a few weeks I prompted the admin with a pm. Results the same.

Unfortunately, I can't go this year but those that do go will still have a good time. Sign up sheet just makes it easy to identify the players.

I am truly sorry. I just looked through my PMs and I do not see a request for this from anyone. It's pretty rare that I would refuse much of anything when asked for help on here.

I am out on the boat right now but I will try to get it set up with the iPad after a bit.

Again, my apologies.
 
There you go. It is set up now. I left the duration open ended because there is only the start date listed in the thread.

I'm not too good at doing this stuff from the tablet so if there are any mistakes or if the list isn't working please let me know. I will try to pay closer attention this time!
 
John & Kitty Purvis will be at Oak Canyon on Firefly (C-22)on Sept. 23rd. I don't know what to do about the lack of a sign-up sheet, but we plan on being there. Hope to see others there.

John, there is a signup sheet. Mike put one out a week or so back.
 
Some day I would love to go to Lake Powell, it just was not worked out. Maybe this year but nothing I can plan for sure. I will sign up on the sheet (thank you Mike), if it looks more than 70% positive.

This looks like a great year as there is water in the lake again.
