There is a Honda shop a few blocks from Bellingham harbor -- we used them yesterday. If anyone needs engine servicing (before or after the Gathering) or any repairs or checkups or parts -- they are good folks (recommended by Joe and Ruthie). For servicing appointment, they need about three weeks advance for reservation, so need to be contacted soon. Contact Joe or Ruth by personal messaging for details if interested.

Bill and El,

Thanks for the 'thumbs up' on getting your Honda engines serviced at West Coast Marine in Bellingham. As much as we love to visit with Les at EQ Marine, it's just so much closer for us to go to WCM (Pete). Don't have their number with us at the moment but can reply to PM's when we get back if anyone is interested in Honda servicing.

We're in for another hot day here in Arizona/Nevada. REALLY looking forward to coming home!

Ruth and Joe/R-Matey.

We will definitely give West Coast Marine a whirl! Still have a ways to go until service is due, but Bellingham is a natural place for us to get service while we are in Birch Bay!

Ruth and Joe,
Regretfully we have had to unsubscribe from the Bellingham gathering. A family reunion and new grandson due too close for travel away from home. We were looking forward to seeing many again and meeting others but family comes first. Have a great time.

44 C-Dorys signed up so far. Any of you needing a CG Auxiliary Vessel Safety Check let me know. I will have my forms and stickers on the boat.
The things that most boats fail are nav lights that have failed and flares that are out of date. You must have your registration papers on board and reg numbers properly attached.

Russ and Toni,

Wish that you could join us but we certainly understand. Maybe we'll see you at Sequim?

BELLINGHAM UPDATE

Schedule (sort of)

FRIDAY: Dinner can be at any of the nearby restaurants. All within walking distance of the marina. For reservations call:

>>>>> ANTHONY'S 360-647-5588<<<<<<<

5:30 looked wide open at this time but not necessarily in the same seating area as the 5 pm crowd.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SATURDAY: A good day for visiting, shopping or whatever works for you.
The Port of Bellingham offer a shuttle service. Fairhaven is a fun place to visit. Great restaurant (Colophon) and book stores, plus lots of artsy little shoppes. Also, there's the Bellis Fair Mall.

The B'HAM CBGT POT LUCK will be @ 5 pm - maybe 5:30ish.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We'll have our van if anyone needs to do some grocery shopping, buy ice, etc....or bring back precious boat jewelry from Pacific Marine. MIKE, THE OWNER OF PACIFIC MARINE HAS GIVEN THE C-DORY CREW DISCOUNT COUPONS FOR 10% OFF. These coupons do not expire till July 2008!!! So see Ruthie for a coupon

Other marine stores nearby include Redden Marine and LFS.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SUNDAY: Have reserved the BAYSIDE CAFE for breakfast @ 8am.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Haven't PM everyone yet with the codes for the gate, showers and restrooms. Am working on that.

See you all in a couple of weeks (can you believe that!) Started this thread back in December!

Ruth and Joe/R-Matey

The codes for Gate 9, the showers and restrooms have been PM'd to everyone that is on the sign up sheet. Please check your PM for these codes. Please add your name to the sign up sheet if you plan to attend so that we don't miss anyone.

B'HAM CBGT UPDATE

For those folks that want to come to B'Ham a day early .....GREAT NEWS! P Dock is now reserved for the C-Brats beginning Thursday July 19 @ 1 pm.

Also, we can use our dinghys to go over to the DAY DOCK which leds to Zannich Park. A great place for the kids to run around.

The daily moorage fee is 50 cents per foot with a minimum charge of $12 (up to 24 foot). Envelopes are available near the Bayside Cafe (located on your right as you exit the Gate 9 entrance).

Some more good news.....the yacht club cancelled their reservations for U Dock (near Gate 12)....that means there MIGHT be some visitor space available over there?? U Dock is located on your starboard side just after you've passed the Hearthfire Restaurant and before you've reached the C-Brats P Dock. Note: U Dock is not connected to P Dock that the C-Brats have reserved.

For the moment I think I've covered everything...if not, just ask....

See you all in less than a couple of weeks.

Ruth and Joe / R-Matey

The current plans of "Sea Shift" are as follows......we are going to launch at B'ham before noon (hopefully?) on Wednesday, cruise over to Sucia to spend the night and then back to B'ham on Thursday AM. "Sea Shift" will then be moored at B'ham Thurs., Fri., and Sat. night during the gathering and departing on the Canada cruise with the flotilla on Sunday.

As for Saturday nights potluck..... we'll be contributing a pasta salad.

If anyone wishes to have their vessel christened, I'll bring my "vestment", some "sprigs of greenery" and with the usual "liquid sacrament" for my personal libation :crook in hand, I'll joyously perform the honors if you so request of me.

(For those of you that have not had your vessel christened.....the only requirements necessary are that you have a "liquid refreshment :beer :cocktail of your own choosing, for your own consumption and for annointing the bow of your beloved vessel that is being christened. If you have a "sprig" of greenery that has particular meaning to you, you may provide that....otherwise, I'll have sprigs of greenery with me from the "Sea Shift" farm. (If your choice of greenery happens to be poison ivy, poison oak or nettles....I will have you personally place that on the bow of your vessel... :disgust ).

Last year we succeeded in having the U. S. Coast Guard helicopter do a "fly by" at the conclusion of our vessel christenings.....I'll attempt to arrange that again this year!

By advised that the first vessels to be christened, tend to be the recipients of ceremonys that are more solemn than the later vessels, as all participants on the dock, have their choice of beverages in hand and there is a tremendous amount of "solemn toasting" :wink that transpires.

Most Reverently Yours,
Rev. Dave

Thank you Dave for doing this as I am sure there's several vessels in need of being christened

As was said by the 4th or 5th christening at Lopez 2004....AND TO THE ARRRRRR-MATEY......now repeat that three more times

Most Reverently Yours,
Rev. Dave

Dave I am sure glad you brought that (christening) up. With the way my year is going I got enough duties,!! I'll be happy to back ya up though..
We will be up Saturday so unfortunately will miss all the fun Friday, I imagine you'all can handle it till we get there...hehhehheh.

Thanks Jim! Apparently I missed that you were joining us up there....glad that you are going to be there too!......so for those that are unaware.......That is the Rt. Rev. Jim that just "spoke up" to join me in the "sacred christening" duties. (Since I'm left handed I'm the Lt. Rev. thereby making him the Rt. Rev. )

The Rt. Rev. Jim not only performed the solemn christening of "Sea Shift" when it became a part of our family, but has performed many other christenings.

Our plans are set. The C-ya and the C-voyager will be leaving Swantown in Olympia at 8am Thursday for our bonzi run to Bellingham.
If anyone wants to join us on our way, just give me a shout on vhf 68 or channel 14 on the cb. Of course you can pm. me and we can arrange a hook up time along the way. My cell phone will be turned on. 360-239-6425.
When I talked to Dave this morning, he and his modified ride are ready to go!

About six months ago, I posted a link showing my proposed route to the BH gathering. I had planed on updating it but will not get a chance. Those wanting to meet Larry and me on our way up there or join us for the entire trip, can view the route here. When you get to the page linked above, click on the “Olympia to Bellingham Cruise Map” link at the bottom of the page. Give it time to load, as it is a large image.

You can roll your mouse across the route for the times we will be at the different points. You will have to add the time I show us reaching each point to 8 AM. For instance, Blake Island is 3 hrs & 11 min from Olympia so we should reach it about 11:11 AM. If the conditions are nice, we will be ahead of the schedule shown. If anyone wants to meet us in Olympia for the entire trip, you would be more than welcome.

All these times are approximant, so if you want to hook up with us, call Larry or me on our cell phones. His number is in the above post, mine is 360.951.2814. I will also be monitoring VHF 68 and 16

We've got a room at the Travel House Inn, so we'll be there. Still debating whether or not The Lizzie will. If there is a flotilla going up past Everett (on the water) Dotty and I would seriously consider joining in. Any plans for this? Thanks.
Marty, if you and Dotty would like to join us as we go past Everett, I would consider it a privilege if you did.

Ok!! How'd Ja do that??? What a great tool. Be warned...you will be expected to explain your routeplanning technique to the semi-literate while at Bellingham

Susan, Looking forward to seeing you & having a good visit. When you're ready to leave Marysville, please give me a call on the cell phone (I know Tom has the house phone # but don't know about the cell # so will send that in a PM).

Ruth/R-Matey

Lori is getting from a trip to MT and MN on Friday afternoon, so my daughter Tory and I are heading up to Bellingham on Friday morning. Lori will get a ride up there on Saturday to join us.

Tory has no boating experience, and I have never been to Bellingham, so may be in need of some guidance as we get closer to Squalicum Harbor Marina.

Warren

Hi Warren,

I PMed my cell #. Your daughter can call when you are enroute. You can count on any help you need... guidance, a hand at the dock, etc. See you there.

Best wishes,
Jim
