Have had several updates from folks and have updated the list. Go HERE
to review it. If you don't have MS Excel, let me know and I'll tell you what I'm missing from you.

23 Boats signed up so far. If you see a ?? in a block, I need information from you. Not trying to be nosy, just figure out how many folks/dogs, etc we'll have and when. The statistics on your boat will be interesting to all. The names will be used for name tags. The ramp/field info is to make sure Tom either has enough land or goes out and buys another field. The Marina reservation info is to make sure you don't forget to do that.

In a week or so, I'll go out with individual mails to those that I need info from and send notes to those that were with us last year and have not yet signed up.

Mail or PM with questions/updates or just post here!

See you in June....

OK, I've looked. Who's got the picture of the whole crowd at the gathering at Langford Bay last year (June 2005). We need to put it here to show the Brats how many folks we had last year. We need to get the record beat this year and keep ahead of those Left Coasters!

Hey Jeff, are you coming this year? Bring a Ranger 21 and 26 if you do, I'm sure you'll sell a couple of them......It's a business trip! :thup :D

We need to get the record beat this year and keep ahead of those Left Coasters!

Not looking like a sweep for the records, here. Last year you started the discussion in February, and had 9 full pages of discussion by the middle of March and ended up with 28 pages. This year, the thread starts last August, and you're only on page 7. Of course, last year you had Daydream Pat running up his post count, and he is rather quiet this year because he can't make the trip. Sorta disappointing, because a lot of us really enjoy your enthusiasm and rambling.

Now then, it seems I mentioned the length of last year's discussion to Terraplane Tom a while back, and he seemed to think I was complaining or something. Quite the contrary - I wish all you easterners would quit being so bashful and step this conversation up a little. We have been averaging about 100 posts a day on the site for a while, and this thread is way low in its percentage. So Tom, you have to think this through a little more. Do you really believe the only guy who has more posts than the guy who called the other guys "slackers" would wish to see fewer posts from you guys? I think not, Banjoman!

I hope you do set a new record for attendance - again. The West Coaster prolific posters are in need of a challenge.

Mike,
thanks for the encouragement. my wife says you should be glad i'm relatively quiet...enouraging me to write more is dangerous..retired college professor ya know...

One old topic i had mentioned earlier..my "Cherish the Waters"tour of the Chesapeake, in October.

It will be a circumnavigation trip, lasting about three weeks.
The intent is to bring attention to some of the conditions which constantly need attention, (runoff, population growth, sewage plants, oyster bed regeneration, development, etc) and to encourage individuals to take personal action. I will travel on my c dory 22 with a guitar player...I have three lined up , eachwill do a "leg" of the trip.

The tour is funded by Mainstay, my non profit music center, here in Rock Hall. We are asking people to be "endorsers" of the trip..No money asked, just to say they agree with the intent of the trip. (this is not a political, or "blame someone" venture..it is intended to build consensus)....
C Dory Marine was among the first to sign on as an endorser. and i now have over ten other groups...

We have already scheduled ten house concerts, where we will talk about the issues, but mostly play Chesapeake Bay music. The ten concerts so far are: Betterton, Middle River, Baltimore, Annapolis, Solomons, St. Mary's River, Tilghman Island, Miles River , Chestertown, and Rock Hall.

So, I have room for two or three more house concerts to if any local C Dory owners want to host one, get in touch with me here.

I'll "preview" someof the music in JUne at Lankford Bay.

I talked to John A. (everybody calls him that) at Lankford Bay the other day. He points out that after we have about 31 slips reserved, it becomes a litttle tight. Some then might have to go to moorings, or anchor out. So, if you are sure you are coming, get that skip reserved. You can always cancel within the legal timeframe they specify.

Shooting for 35 boats this year.

I am a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary and plan to attend the Lankford Bay get together. If anyone bringing their boat would like, I would be pleased to give them a FREE vessel safety check.

For those who are not famuilar with the vessel safety check, it is an examination of your boat to see if it meets state and federal safety requirements including, but not limited to: PFD's, fire extinguishers, navigation lights, fuel and electrical systems. Vessels passing the safety check receives a decal to be posted on their windshield.

Anyone interested should contact me prior to the June 2nd start date to insure that we can schedule time for their check-up, or look me up aboard the "C-Rapture" while at the dock.

Very good Gary. I know that Creekside is the flotilla cdr of the unit in the mid potomac too and I used to be an Aux member until my rank LTjg got in the way of my Navy rank (Capt) and I ran out of volunteer time. I'll set up a signup sheet for the inspection stuff. Can you send me a check list of what you'll be looking for so they can make sure they have all they need to make it the first time?

Pat,

Thanks for the suggestion..the picture certainly does capture the spirit of
this gathering. Too bad you guys can't make it...

We'll put the picture into the meeting next week.

Best to all you guys.

Question for whom ever is getting the shirts..are they going to be pre-shrunk or just cotton do you know yet. Does have an effect on the size we might need. If you won't know in advance could you just let me know so I can compensate, thanx cpt vic

Nick and Capt Vic: Got the info and will post it. Vic, I don't think they're preshrunk but if it rains that weekend, they'll get shrunk some

Haven't had a wet t-shirt contest yet but that could be arranged...

Pat Anderson would have won last year, hands down.... :D

Just order a size larger than you think you might otherwise need....

There will be enough shirts there that you can trade around if you need to... If you need to "compensate", either eat nothing or eat a bunch that weekend and it'll fit by the end of the gathering.;... :cry

Charlie

Sea Angel here;

As a suggestion for the group -
The distribution of our MMSI#s for the gathering.. for those who have updated radios. This would make for minimum radio traffic as vessels arrive and cruise areas, keeping track on our convoys positions.

My MMSI# is; 338032155

Thoughts?
