05/14 - 05/18 - 6th Annual Delta/Bay Extravaganza

Whew ! Jim if more details follow, I will have to start taking notes...

Sue WILL be really close to retirement at the event... she will retire in June....so this will probably be her last attack of that dread disease DeltaFlu
that has been bugging her all these years...

This year I probably will take my service dog...she will be certified by then and can sit at the bar with me now.

See Ya There...

On the list at number 8. is Tee Tan. If that is Steve Grover's boat it should read Tee Ten like ( T-10 ). I hope I'm on the list. I'm rigging the boat now. Sydney ( 1 dog ) will be with me.

We're in for the whole banana.
We will also have a dog with us on this cruise. Just a puppy now, but she will be coming home to us in about 3 weeks.

Roger

Jim & Kathy, nice plan, I promise to 'behave'. And I have some ideas on the Wheeler Island dock approach that might help, I'll share later.

I still don't see WILD BLUE on the list (they haven't signed up yet... :cry ).

Scott Lil Rascal, you will be the 12th and final boat. Scott, talk to the boss and make sure you can come, we want to see you. Also, Kath says bring pictures of the kids and wife with you because we are starting to not believe you that you have another life!

Steve Grover, Tee Ten, yes that is ment to be you. I guess you upgraded from a 16 to a 22 footer?

Unless someone drops out between now and the 29th of February, this event is full up for 2008! But please, if you do not plan to come, let us know so we can free up your valuable space for someone else that wants to go.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for thinking of us. We had a great time on the cruise last year, but the timing isn't going to work for us this time around. We hope you will have that "karma" that made it all fall into place in '07. We'll be following your adventures and working on the next chapter for us.

Best wishes,
Jim & Joan

Jim,

I see that mpmccoy is on the sign up list, but I don't see that you have included him on the active list.
I believe he has been listed for awhile now.
See ya there.

Roger

Thanks Roger for helping me. Every year I have a hard time adding everyone up!

I think mpmccoy = Sea Queen, and I have Sea Queen on the list. So it seems ok.

Right now we have our maximum of twelve boats, with Scott signed up. After this Friday, the 29th, assuming no one drops out between now and then, I will go ahead and try to get the marina reservations for everyone.

Sincerely,

Jim

Jim- yer right, Sea Queen is on the list.
Looking forward to getting back on the water.

And since you are the Big Kahuna on this cruise, you get the honors of Christening the new boat- as this will be her first cruise after sea trials.

Roger

WOW Roger, what a great honor. Do we do the celebration at Rio Vista or do we do it at Wheeler Island on Wednesay of the event kick off!

Champaign for everyone!!! The skipper gets christened to! Just like with a new hot air balloon pilot.

Sincerely,

Jim and Kath

Jim,

We are not going to be attending this years SF Bay/Delta event. We have had a great time at this CBGT for the last three years, but have had a change of plans for this year. This will open up an opportunity for someone else to go on this super cruise.
Thanks, Jim and Kathy for last three years, maybe next year.

Brent and Dixie- we are sorry you can not make it this year. We hope to see you at a future event. That new place of yours Utah is amazing. Quite innovative.

All right all you c-dog c-brats, we have one more boat availability, but only until tomorrow, Friday, February 29th. After that we are closing sign-ups for this event so we can secure the marina reservations. We have 11 boats now, and we are willing to do an even 12 boats, if someone else wants to sign up by tomorrow. Otherwise we will keep it a 11 boats. Come and see the initiation of Roger's new vessel!

Sincerely,

Jim

Brent and Dixie- Sorry to see that you can not make it this year-- we understand, as we could not make it last year. Hope to cruise with you in the near future.
Have fun.

Roger

Dear All-

We now have our limit of twelve boats (12) and the Extravaganza is officially CLOSED to any new attendees. The 12th boat is Helm, a 25 foot C-Dory out of Medford, Oregon. Congratulations to everyone who has secured a valuable seat in this chosen event!

We will be going ahead and making the required Marina reservations. We are very excited about the event as always, and are currently dreaming up some interesting side events. Also, we are excited about the Christening Party at Wheeler Island for Rogers new vessel!

Sincerely,

Jim and Kath

PS- Ron Islander, we are honored to have the spirtual leadership of OBX Bill! Every year we look forward to our dock exercises and our daily philosophy briefings!

Brent and Dixie, sorry to hear you won't be making it, maybe Catalina???

Oh no, he might try to bend me into some unnatural shape again :disgust , and he could be angry at me for not continuing his practice routines this past year. Hmmm. He's a great guy though, hope he goes easy on us...

Sounds like a great itinery and we are looking foreward to it! At first glance the trip seemed very ambitious, since my trips up there have been in sailboats from 29 to 62 feet in lenght--(these have entirely different challanges than the C Dory)--but even at 15 to 16 knots all of these runs are very easy--and if necessary in the slop of the bay, if one has to drop down to 6 or 7 knots, it will average out.

I am willing to be a "Sag Wagon" and stay with whom every wants to go slow--and allow them to follow in my wake if they so desire.

I probably will get to Rio Vista a day early and launch then.

WOW!!

I will have my College 50th reunion in Claremont CA on May1

Dr. Bob, Claremont, which campus??

I'm a CMC (Claremont Men's College) Alum '76. The other Dr. Bob.

My wife and I would realllllllly love to see a 22 Angler and a 24 Tom Cat, and meet some of the brats. We live in Fresno, after 20 years in Sacramento. Anyone coming with these?? Or any time just to meet up as wannabee's. The delta/San Pablo bay is my long time fishing grounds. TIA, Bob

Added: I have spent endless times in these waters, including some bad weather. I can't imagine that anyone will have any problems unless you are talking a major storm. The Rio Vista stretch of the Sacramento River can get bouncy in the wind at certain angles and you may have to slow down a little, but this should be easy for all.
