    Navionics app for iphone

Great info, Thanks. I’m sure using it on my ipad would be a much better option than the phone. Dr. Bob—my Garmin unit is the Echomap CV, which we installed less than two years ago. It replaced a 14 year old Raymarine unit. The Garmin has worked fine until recently, when it began to turn off...

    Trim/tilt leak arounf piston

Hello knowledgeable group, The seal around the trim/tilt shaft on my Honda BF50 is seeping fluid. Does anyone know if there is a kit of replacement gaskets for that, or do I have to replace the entire trim tilt assembly? Thanks in advance for your help, Gary

    steering cable broken?

Just an update--with the help of the mobile mechanic and a sledge hammer, we were able to "unfreeze" the steering at the the motors, reattach the cable in the Teleflex box, and detach, clean, and agressively lube the steering "bar" that attaches to the cable. (Not sure of the correct term for...

    steering cable broken?

Perhaps this knowledgeable group can help. I have twin Honda 50s on my CD 22, 700 hours on the motors, 2004 versions. Went to the Rosy B today, ready for salmon fishing. My steering had been stubborn lately, so I decided to test before pulling out of my slip at the marina. Steering seemed...

    hooked up battery backwards

Well, with the help of my son-in-law, we found two burnout fuses as the problem--one under the motor hood as some of you suggested and one for the radio. After replacing those, everything seemed to work fine. I feel very lucky that there seemingly was no more damage. And it's a good...

    hooked up battery backwards

Thanks, everyone, for your suggestions. My son-in-law is an electrician, so I'm going to get him to help me trace this down. I'll start by looking for a fuse in the harness (I have 2004 motors), and go from there. This would happen right at the beginning of what promises to be a good salmon...

    hooked up battery backwards

I just made a major mistake tonight! I was havinig electrical system problems last time I went out fishing, so today at the marina I took out the number one battery in a dual battery system to be able to clean a breaker that looked like it had corroded connections. What was a slight sprinkle...

    2011 California Coastal Cruise

I would be interested in joining you depending on what dates you end up deciding on. I have my boat at Spud Point Marina in Bodega Bay. I am familiar with the sections of the coast you are describing, most of which I've paddled in a kayak. Two summers ago, I spent a week out at the Channel...

    tachometer quit

While running in the 22 cruiser last weekend, the tachometer gauge for one of my Honda 50s suddenly went dead. I tried connecting the good tach gauge for the other motor to the feed for the one that went bad, but there was still no response. I guess this means the problem is in the motor...
