    dry storage in anacortes

Pacific marine in Anacortes. We kept our Ranger tug on blocks for 2 winters there. Great people to work with and they have a 300' dock.

    Full storage cover???

Angola did my cover on the 22 a few years ago, great work and fast delivery, was just over 800 for Sunbrella.

    Cruising to Nanaimo

Sounds like a fun trip, I did it 3 times this summer. If going during the winter and planning on clearing customs at Poets, make sure they are open as they are not open year round. I like Sidney for customs as we usually stay a night or 2 there. In the summer Poets can be very busy late...

    Whiskey Gulf

Waggoner's guide also explains how to get around and the proper course. It was active both days we went through this trip, their patrol boat was hot to trot chasing someone down and told the offender to place the boat in neutral and the patrol boat would have a chat with them. Whinchelsea...

    Best boat loans

I would agree with D.D. on Boat US, they do not finance on the west coast or I would have used them, in 09 we ended up using B of A for the C-Dory. The current Ranger Tug we went through a broker the factory recommended as it was a much bigger loan! Don

Factory option suggestions for new boats

I did a few upgrades on the 22, making entry into the bunk would be nice for ease of access, also air circulation. Insulating the bunk By the time we add up all these options we'll have a very heavy expensive boat, hence the move to the Ranger Tug.

    Langley Marina Improvements

We used to head into Langley, but hated the $ just to walk up the steep grind into town and they closed our Fav places to eat. We love going to Coupeville instead, and it's free!

Boat Charters to cruise the San Juan's

I was on my C-Dory 2 years ago and my friends charted the Gypsey Pearl 28 Cutwater, we rafted for a couple of nights. They also happen to sell Cutwater, they are very laid back and easy to work with. http://www.yachtworld.com/bys/bys_11.html

Verizon global cell phone doesn't work

Same thing happened to us this past year changing back from Canada to normal plan, lost 2 gigs due to plan change. Our contract is up and we are in the house selling process to move full time to Washington so will look at options when we get up there. Don

    Daydream is Home at Last!

That garage is the perfect size for my tug, I'll bring it right over! Seriously it really looks good in the new home!

8-Plait vs. 3 Strand rope for windlass

Joe Some good questions In my case I bought it from Defender marine and it was professionally spliced, it passed throught the windlass very easily, better than the slice I currently have on the 3 strand but I need to cut the splice out on the 3 strand and redo it, it is also on a horizonal vs...

8-Plait vs. 3 Strand rope for windlass

A few years ago we installed a verticle windlass on the CD-22 and decided to go with 200' of 8 plait and 50' of chain. really liked the feel of the rode and it did coil well and was very easy to tie off on the front cleat, would certainly do it again. Now that we have the tug and 3 strand, it...

    Torqeedo 1003 as Kicker/dinghy motor

The way we use the motor I typically use about 4% cruising around anchorages. Usually we are at a marina every 2-3 days and charge off the batteries, so have never had a problem with the capacity of the battery. I like the fact that I can take the battery off and stow it along with the control...

    Torqeedo 1003 as Kicker/dinghy motor

Hi Greg Good info on the 12-24 stepup, that would be good. I cannot believe that Torqeedo does not have their own 120-12 volt converter. We literally got the motor put the stuff on the boat and took off for Desolation last year. This year I will retire in 57 days but who's counting! Then we...

    Torqeedo 1003 as Kicker/dinghy motor

When we bought the tug it came with an 8' dinghy but no motor. I was about ready to pull the plug on a Suzuki 2.5, but they had a Torqeedo at a boat show for in water demo. it was on a 12' dinghy and with 4 of us on board was very impressed I went with the current and against. For Desolation...

    Bimini and other deck options

I had the bimini made a bit oversized and had the zippers placed so later on I could easily add the full canvas.

Stay with the 22 or go big?

My Ranger 27 is trailerable, but would require a trailer and bigger tow rig. Since I am 800 miles from the boat, we decided to place it on blocks in storage. This is cheaper than water moorage and decreased the maint. There are several underwater zinks that need servicing and decreases bottom...

Stay with the 22 or go big?

Bryrick You might stop by the La Conner event, I am sure there will be a 25 CD to check out, along with many others. I know there is a Ranger Tug 25 going also. don

Stay with the 22 or go big?

We moved up from the 22 to the 27 Ranger Tug, while I had spent many a night on the 22, when the wife spent a couple of nights on it, she missed the comforts of home. Our plans were retire and do some long distance cruising so the shower and head were a must. On our radar was also the 32 Nordic...
