    C-Dory 25 Windshield Wipers

When port side motor quit, replaced it with simple, manual unit. Plenty good for Chesapeake, where we spend little time in rain!

How ‘bout a link to the Budge cover at Amazon? Thanks.

    HATS AND OR JACKETS

A few years ago a lady at the factory in WA put me in touch with the place where C-Dory had ball caps made. I no longer have that contact info, but somebody at C-Dory could probably still refer you to a source. Also, there is usually somebody embroidering hats, shirts, etc at boat shows.

    Navigation Charts for Chesapeake Bay

Seen this one? http://www.gmcomaps.com/product/chesape ... h-edition/ GMCO products are pretty good. Check out the rest of their site, too. I also use Garmin BlueChart on my iPad.

Thanks for the helpful responses. I'll give Garmin customer service another try.

    Garmin 498

I've reopened this old thread just because it has the right subject line. My Garmin 498 is going into its 10th season and still works great (knock on teak). But according to the Garmin site, I can no longer update the chart card. Anybody know of an alternative for getting updates for...

    Diaper Cream

Dr. Bob, Thirty five years ago some of us were still using for its original purpose.

    Diaper Cream

Practical Sailor just published part of an article on this. Bottom line, it works on trim tabs, transducers, etc. - anything that is not spinning or sliding on and off of a trailer.

    FL Keys?

I haven't seen any posts about trips to the Keys this winter. (Maybe I missed 'em?) Anybody going to be down there last week of Feb - first two weeks of March?

Cruising the Chesapeake Bay to Washington DC - any tips?

You mentioned a "Guide Book." If it's not this one, this one is very good: https://www.amazon.com/2017-Guide-Cruis ... 1884726216 On your way up the bay, check out Deltaville, Urbanna (up the Rappahannock), Reedville. Up the river, St Mary's City, Leonardtown, and Colonial Beach among...

    Outer Banks

Haven't been there by boat yet, but have often checked it out by car. Not many transient ports on OBX but Manteo and Ocracoke are interesting villages with marinas. Check out Wanchese and Hatteras Island, too. As you can see from the chart, lots of skinny water and shifting shoals down...

market price for my 2005 19' c-dory angler

Should be pretty heavily discounted if there is a "bear" aboard. :)

    Cruisn' the Keys

On the way from Bahia Honda to Key West, I recommend Geiger Key for a Cuban or Hogfish sandwich and a beer. Also, Skimmer is planning to be in Pennekamp March 9-16, and would love to connect with any Brats in the area.

    22 C Dory center console?

How many of these did C-Dory make? Every time I see mention of a C-Dory center console, I wonder what they were thinking - there are so many better alternatives in CCs: Mako, Aquasport, Boston Whaler, et al. The factory somehow got a sailboat dealer in Annapolis to take one a few years ago...

    Co Detectors

So Bob, is the Kidde KN-COPP-B-LPM at $19, the one you have in the boat, car and RV? And you have found it suitable for the marine application? Thanks

    Considering a C Dory 22 cruiser

There are many C-Dories on the Bay. (See the Brat Map). I had a 22 out of Essex Maryland and Stafford VA for a season, and have operated a 25 out of Solomons, MD and Hampton VA for 7-8 years. They are safe but often uncomfortable in seas over 2ft, common all spring and often on summer...

Who is interested in a 2015 Upper Chesapeake gathering??

We would definitely like to do this, schedule permitting. The former Lankford gathering was in June, and was awfully hot then, so July or August might be worse (but not a deal breaker). We'll stay tuned. P.S. We liked playing "whazoo" and eating large.
