    Axle Ratios

Colby, My other vehicles are also Toyota's and I am a big fan. I traded a 2003 Tundra for the F-150 and I've been very impressed. The 2015's also have the Aluminum body. The only reason I traded the Tundra was because of the rust issue. We live at 5,000 feet in WNC and have up to 100 inches of...

    Axle Ratios

Colby, I have a 2015 F-150 Supercrew with the 5 liter V8 and 3.55 rear axle. The factory brake controller is by far the best I have used. I have towed our travel trailer approximately 1,000 miles without problem.

    16 CRUISER LOOKING FOR WATER

Congratulations neighbor on the great looking boat. One of our favorite places is Fontana Lake a ways to the south of you. Lake James to your north is another convenient place to spend the day. Enjoy.

    Connie Fisher

Dave, Good. We don't have any big plans yet. Since business has picked back up we have been pretty busy trying to get as rich as you. We have been thinking about doing the Lake Powell trip in September but that depends on a couple of things. Harper

    RV Trailers

Dave, Just read Jim's advice and every point he makes is extremely valid. Some of the issues he raises are such that you don't think about them until you are in the rv for a while and are disappointed. Another issue is wet bath vs dry bath. Ours is a wet bath and it's a no fun clean up after...

    RV Trailers

Dave, This suggestion is not in the 25 foot range but it meets the other criteria. Since 1996 we have had two Casitas. These are 17 foot molded fiberglass, single axle travel trailers that come in three floorplans. We have taken them across the US several times. In about 2003 we decided we...

    Angola Canvas--Great service and product

Dr. Bob, I fully agree this is a superior product from a superior company. I have had my cover for two years and it is as good as new. I chose a different material at the suggestion of Angola due to the fact that we have 100 to 130 inches of snow. The material "aqualon" I believe is said to...

Anyone been to Fontana Lake in NC?

Tom, Fontana Lake is one of the most beautiful in this area. We've spent a week there every year for some time. Dr. Bob is right...the entire northern part of the lake bounds Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Several places to launch. We like Almond Boat Park run by Jim and Jo Mathis. They...

Dave and Ginny, We are eagerly following your adventure. We spent a month in that part of the country last fall sans the boat. Beautiful. Harper

    1997 c-dory 22 Cruiser - on ebay - listing ending 08-03-2011

In the 80's I found a 1967 Boston Whaler 16'7" classic pre Montauk center console sitting in a storage yard on a trailer but with no engine. I got it for a song, redid the woodwork, installed a new rub rail and powered with a new Merc 70. The boat would really run. Wish I still had it. Many...

    Replacing bilge pump discharge hose?

Rob, Thanks much, I'll give it a try. I wondered what the second thru hull was, my port lazarette also has a drain. Harper

    Replacing bilge pump discharge hose?

My bilge pump discharge hose has totally disintegrated. As you know it runs from the pump behind the port fuel tank to two discharge fittings on the port side of the hull. Is there any way to replace the hose without removing the fuel tank? Do those discharge fittings (stainless or chrome)remove...

What does it take to change your life?

This thread hits home with me. When I retired from a vocation that I loved a few years ago I did the life of play for a couple of years and then got to feeling useless. Guess that's because I worked since I was about 12 years old at something. After that couple of years I got into civic...

Economy explained in less than 3 minutes

wesocec, I think you got every bit of that right. On the bright side I think many more citizens are now willing to do as you suggest and take a pass on the social issues until the economic issues are adequately addressed. At least I hope that is the case. Harper
