Vermonters Purchase C-Dory Tomcat from Wefings in Florida

Peter and Linda: Congratulations and welcome! Good choice to buy from Marc- as I had mentioned to you in a pm some weeks ago, we bought from him and he has been wonderful to work with. Regarding the Permatrims, we have them. I feel that they smoothen the ride a bit in choppy water by keeping...

    Wiper fuse keeps blowing

A follow-up: I disassembled the wiper assembly. Did not see any corrosion, and the motor worked fine once I had taken everything apart. Cleaned it up, reassembled, re-installed. Looks like its working OK, at least for now. Perhaps something was binding because of misalignment. A few tips for...

    Wiper fuse keeps blowing

Thank you all. I will report back on my findings after I take the wiper assembly apart, just to complete the conversation.

    Wiper fuse keeps blowing

My port side wiper fuse (5 amp) blows a few seconds after the switch is turned on. The wiper starts moving, goes through no more than one cycle, and fuse blows. The wiper is not binding- I have checked that already. The wiper brand is AFI. This is the wiper "movement" fuse, not the wiper...

    Wallas Poof

Two say "high" Three say "low" I also turn it down low before shutoff. That makes it 4:2. The lows win! I suspect it makes no difference :?

Stowing and Using generator on a CD25

The Walmart in our area has big gray plastic boxes for $4 each. The Honda 2000 fits perfectly into the box except it is about 1" too tall for the lid to close comfortably. I use a bungee hooked to the box handles to keep the lid closed. The box with the generator stays in the cockpit when under...

    Low speed control & docking

Rod: Current is not an issue in our marina, but we often have a cross-wind, sometimes 15 knots or more. Instead of fightng the wind, I just use it to help me line up the bow into the slip. I also have to make a right and then a left turn into my slip. I have a foot of red ribbon, a tell-tale...

    Electrical Issue

I would take care of the park circuit fuse. Mine blew too, and I was caught in some really rough water with waves breaking over the front of the boat. With my hands full timing the waves, trying to time the wipers so that they stop in the right place was an additional, and unnecessary, distraction.

    Our Visit to Wefing's Marine

We went 800 miles and three states over to buy a boat from Marc, and it was still worth it.

    SUPER LOOP 2009

Well, Roger reached Galveston this afternoon and tied up in Offat's Bayou. I visited with him and we shared stories over a couple of shrimp po-boys. Roger has done a lot of things in his life and is great fun to talk to. His boat is set up nicely for long-distance cruising- simple, but...

    Kleen-Heat

Mark: As Dave pointed out in the post above, Wallas and Klean Heat are discussed every winter. There is a ton of stuff on the site. Looking at the specific issue of Scan Marine and Klean Heat, I had posted this link a couple of years ago. It states Scan Marine's position and clearly mentions...

    Kleen-Heat

I am partial to using Klean Heat in my Wallas, if only because I have used nothing else and the Wallas has performed flawlessly. Out of curiousity, I decided to follow-up on my previous post about buying Klean Heat from a shipper. The cost of a gallon container is around $12. Shipping via UPS...

    TomCat 255 Weight Question

Mike: The question of bottom paint and epoxy has been extensively discussed in previous threads. Here is the deal as I understand it. I aplogize if I am repeating stuff that you already know: The fiberglass from which the hull is made is "laid" or bonded with a resin. There are two commonly...

    TomCat 255 Weight Question

Mike: You are right- the easier it is to turn the engines on and leave, the more you will use the boat. Also, pulling out a Tomcat can be a bit stressful if the launch ramp is busy or if there is a stiff cross breeze. We keep ours in a slip and use it a lot. At other times, I just go and sit...

    TomCat 255 Survey

The live-well (we call them fish boxes) seals leaking is a chronic problem. There is quite a bit of discussion in the threads listed below. http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... fish+boxes http://www.c-brats.com/viewtopic.php?t= ... fish+boxes
