    SPLASH WELL MODIFICATION

Tom & Susan After looking at your fish box/ storage compartment/ cockpit seat at one of the CBGT last summer, :idea I said to myself. Self, you can make one of those. So I priced out the materials, & took detailed mesurements. The problem I ran into is the motor control cables. They come...

    03/06 - 03/08 - Indian Cove, South Sound

Steve, Pat, Jim, Roger, Randy, Karl, Dave, Robbi, and anyone else I missed. Whats to say we can't do both dates. There is a lot to see in the south sound, & we had a great time last year at Jarrel's Cove. Count us in for whatever dates work. Steve, those shrimp-ka-bobs were the bomb.

Seeking advice as we plan our first trip into Canadian water

Steve The Gulf Islands are very nice. We have been up there several times, and plan on going back again this year. We don't have radar and never felt threatened. But you must be willing to wait it out if the fog does roll in. A dinghy of some sort is a must. There are so many nice coves and...

TV antennas for boats- what works best?

Hi Jim We spend up to two weeks at a time on the boat. Not as long as you & the Blond for sure. After a couple of weeks, I'm in need of a news fix. There is soo much to see and do on the water, I don't miss the usual (stuff) on TV. I would not be a happy camper if we were anchored up in some...

TV antennas for boats- what works best?

I think a better solution is to leave the TV at home. After all, why do we mess around in boats? :crook

We are bringing a crab pot and two shrimp pots. Not sure which days we will be crabbing, so plan on picking up a daily license as needed. There is a store by the ferry landing near Lyle (sp) cove where we have got our license in the past.

Dave Well I'm glad you and Carol can make it for the relaxed cruise. As Pat said, don't expect too much structure, but there should be lots of fun. We plan to anchor our most nights and hit the marinas for re-supply and showers. See ya at Bellingham. Terry

It's about time to bring this thread back to the top. I am SOOOOO ready for some time on the water. We are looking forward to the slower pace of the Gulf Islands. I want to explore some of the out-of-the-way places like Whaler Cove and Horton Bay. I have read about a vineyard on Lylle Cove. How...

08/17 - Gulf Islands, Part Two

Jan & Stacy Ya, I asked about the for sale sign, I was told it has been for sale for years. Port Browning is an older, rundown, out of the way marina. Just the way I like it. There is a pretty good shopping center about a half hour walk from the marina. They have a large open gress...

Now that Friday Harbor & Anacortes is over, it's time to get serious about the Gulf Is. trip. (Not too serious). Ann & I plan on going at a slow pace and hang out around the southern part of the islands. We will be trying to catch some shrimp and crabs. I know some people have other plans &...
