Invite Rosboroughs to CBGTs?

It seems to me C-Dory owners share many of the same values, interests, etc. as do the owners of Rosborough boats in addition to the Rangers, Tom Cats, etc. We have Brats who have gone from C-Dories to Rossies.

And, of course, there is the Les Lampman/EQ connection.

I'd like to suggest that we invite Rossie owners to join our CBGTs.

What say ye?

Warren

Warren,

I think the key component as to why current Rosborough owners/dealers are welcome to a CBGT is that they were former C-Dory owners and current C-Brats, especially Les and Dusty, who have been active C-Brats since the beginning.

To now say that all Rosborough owners should be invited does not make sense to me. There is no company connection between Rossies and C-Dory like the Ranger Tugs, TomCats and now Cape Cruisers (Venture series). I say let's keep it all in the family, the C-Dory family. Just my $.02.

c-brats on line!
the only rossie i know is byrdman, and they don't come any better than him, and he's already part of the family. so, with that in mind, my two cents would probably stay with our current group of high spirited, intellectually superior, morally questionable, most of the time coherent, members.
that's my story and i'm sticking to it. what's yours?
best regards
pat

Ha ha ha! This is definitely the quote of the day:

"stay with our current group of high spirited, intellectually superior, morally questionable, most of the time coherent, members."

I love it....

I for one can do without any Rosborough dealers at our Gulf Coast Gathering . Owners without agenda are another story.

CBGT stands for "C-Brats Get Together" Not C-Dory Get Together, not Tomcat Get Together, not Cape Cruiser Get Together, not..you get the idea... The unifying factor is that of being a C-Brat. I was a C-Brat for about a year before I bought C-Cakes and certainly felt I was a part of this crew even if I didn't own a C-Dory. I enjoy seeing Larry H. of Jacu Maru, not a C-Dory, Sarge of Pingu, not a C-Dory, Merv and Kathy of Kingfisher II, not a C-Dory, Roger and Janet of Dreamer, not a C-Dory, Mack of Island Ranger, not a C-Dory, and I suspect if Joe (Sea Wolf) chose to come to a CBGT in his Bayliner   instead of his C-Dory, we'd still welcome him. If someone wants to have a C-Dory 16 or a C-Dory 19 only get together, fine, but as long as our rendezvous' are called C-Brats Get Togethers then as far as I'm concerned any C-Brat is welcome. My 2 cents.

Another comment from the right coast -
Diversity is not what we're about on this site. I did post supporting C-Rangers
on the site but have since had second thoughts about that as well. :embarrased

Boy am I glad our paths will never cross, I just know I would NOT fit at one of those gatherings.

Barry et al,

Isn't Warren's proposal that we invite all Rosborough owners to CBGT's because their boats are like ours?

I don't think there's any question that all C-Brats are invited to CBGT's. I don't think there's any question that C-Brats who are former C-Dory owners are welcome, many of whom we look forward to seeing. But Rosborough owners in general who've never been involved in this forum shouldn't be given an open invitation to join, should they? What would they have to do with being a C-Brat? Now, if they were active participants that would be different.

Tell me if I'm misreading Warren's intent.

My intent was based on the similarities of the boats, but the comments here have led me to reconsider. I agree that if any Rossie owners are active here they would be welcome at the CBGTs but if not, they should not be invited.

Sorry for wasting bandwidth on this!

Warren

1) They are CBGT (see Barry's excellent definition above).
2) The great thing about how CBGT's work is that we post them here and C-Brat's invite themselves. Ergo - any C-Brat is welcome.
3) In the event that ever changes, I wouldn't want to be a C-Brat.

"Problem" solved.

Now back to your regular channel, nothing to see here....

Warren you should have called me first. I have benn here and done take :cry hey wheres that icon of the guy banging his head against the wall???
