Sweetening the pot to sell a CD 25

Thank you, that explains it. I wish I was in a position to jump on this, but no... I could actually write a check for it, but I'm in transition between work and retirement, and buying waterfront property on Lake Champlain... So, it's vicarious boat ownership until things settle-out...

Is there a "for sale" posting that this goes with this? Linky, please.

Current C-Dory Values - what's the right price?

As a potential buyer, I'd fixate on the age of the boat, roughly 25 years old. Fiberglass hulls of that era are prone to a long list of potential problems, many of which are not detectable to even a very competent surveyor with a moisture meter. Plus, there have been ups and downs with C-Dory...

    Lake Champlain Info Sought

I'm interested in the same stuff, maybe with more of an emphasis on the Northern part, though. The consensus seems to favor Navionics charts over Garmin. Many (most?) electronic chart packages which include Champlain will cut-off at the Canadian border. Speaking of which, you will need to...

Outboard Jet Drives (Like Honda 105HP)?

I'm getting ready to buy a center console ~18' boat (probably Key West 176CC) and am wondering if a jet-drive, like the Honda 105HP, is a viable option. While 90% of my operation will be in 20+ feet of water, I would like the option of exploring some one-foot depths, too. Does the outboard jet...

Anyone on East Coast have a Garmin 276C ?? Help !

Well, ain't nothing sweeter than a Vermont ride on a motorcycle... Except, maybe swing up to Mt. Washington (NH) before you head home... But, the 276C basemap is only lacking in a few areas (Rt.7 near Manchester VT is still notably absent, for example).

Anyone on East Coast have a Garmin 276C ?? Help !

I've used a 276C for years, and don't understand your question. The basemap should be fine for navigating and most routing, unless you need enhanced neighborhood resolution. I have always used mine with the basemap, and the Topo USA overlay map...never a problem. Perhaps I'm not understanding...

    Emergency toilet products?

Joe, we both left out the manufacturer's disclaimer: "DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION!" This is so redneck, right up there with Arkansas Chrome (duct tape, for those not in the know...)

    Emergency toilet products?

Thank y'all for the feedback. I like the 3-leg folding version because it will store so much more compactly than a 5 gal. bucket, unless, of course, the bucket will have other uses on board between toilet uses. Since it uses a plastic liner, it's probably not as gross as it at first seems to...

    Emergency toilet products?

Is that "grown", or "thrown"? Also, is the system for single-use, or, is it like a cat litter box where several uses are OK before changing/discarding?

    Emergency toilet products?

I find Porta Pottis to be fairly gross, but sort of a necessary-evil if a marine head is out of the question due to boat size, for example. Has anyone used some of the newer, disposable waste systems, ones that have a bio-degradeable bag containing some weird absorbant? They seem to be...

    Seat hardware questions

Can someone educate me about seat pedestals and seat mounts? I'm looking for a pedestal that adjusts for height, and a seat mount that swivels and adjusts fore and aft. I would like a mount that permits a limit in swivel (like zero degrees to the right and 270 degrees to the left, to avoid...

    AC inverter...MINIMUM load?

I have a Tripp Lite PV375 inverter that I want to use only to power a wireless router, a modem, and a network switch. Total power draw is probably only about 20 watts. The inverter is rated at 375 watts, with 600 watt surge. The inverter is obviously overkill, but I already owned it and it...

Permanent Boatlifts on pilings, Northern climate???

Off topic, but I gotta say it: I'm a newbie, but I was drawn to this forum initially by Google searches that resulted in Thataway comments...your stuff is always "on the money"...keep up the good work. I may never become a C-Brat officially, but I have become one vicariously via Thataway. I...

Permanent Boatlifts on pilings, Northern climate???

I'm getting some excellent advice and perspectives from you folks here. The lack of beach means there is no place to drag/store anything that has to come out of the water for Winter. Sections of floating EZ Dock only weigh 100# which can be carried or wheeled up the stairs, but anything...
