    Cheap cabin heat...Mr. Heater propane?

Check: inexpensive CO monitor Check: inexpensive propane gas-leak detector Check: free oxygen depletion monitor (built-in to the heater itself) We're still at about 5% of the price of the cheapest Wallas... [and probably at about 1% of the traditional Wallas headaches and maintenance...

    Cheap cabin heat...Mr. Heater propane?

I'm looking for the sub-$250 solution rather than the $1500+ solution (Wallas and Force-10)!

    Cheap cabin heat...Mr. Heater propane?

Rather than an expensive (Wallas) diesel cabin heater, has anyone used the inexpensive propane Mr. Heater ("Buddy")? They are unvented, but have O2-depletion sensors...and, yes, interior condensation may be an issue requiring a slightly opened window. I think a propane gas-detector in the...

New C-Dory purchase, meaning a new Triton...

The closest dealer is a 4-hour drive from where I live, next closest is 4.5 hours... So, probably no realistic warranty service would be available after purchase, unless Triton delegated service to other dealer networks... Before I posted here asking about purchase price, I had called several...

New C-Dory purchase, meaning a new Triton...

I appreciate the reply, but I still question why only a 5-year hull warranty is being offered. That to me is a "no-confidence vote" by the builder. I have no local C-Dory dealer...closest from where I am in upstate NY would be either Long Island, or, New Hamshire, neither particularly do-able...

New C-Dory purchase, meaning a new Triton...

I'm considering buying a 22-Cruiser, but have questions, and mucho reservations. How much are these selling for new? Maybe I missed it, but I did not find pricing info. on the official Triton website. Also, something of major concern: "standard 5-year limited hull warranty"... 5-year hull...

Is that what's called a "jumbo" shrimp? Looks like what we call a "lobster"...

    new carpet for trailer beams

Regarding non-corrosive staples, I believe the preferred material for marine use is Monel, not stainless or galvanized. They are commonly available for Arrow brand staplers, and probably most others. Probably not at Harbor Freight, though.

    Spectacular Dinoflagellates

Here in upstate New York, we see dinoflatulence all the time. Especially near Albany in an election year.

Odd that you're promoting it for him, but you also say that you're trying to buy it. I'm even more confused now.

1998 22 Cruiser for sale in CT

It sounds like it's grossly underpowered, unless that "50hp" is a typo.

I wonder how they float now?

"Unsinkable" was a registered trade of Boston Whaler, or, at least they tried to get it to be. There are CG regulations mandating level flotation, but I think they only apply to boats up to 20 feet in length or so. And, level flotation is quite a bit different than being able to only see the...

    yellow streaks from rub rail

There were these two fellars pissin' over the the side of a C-Dory. One fellar said, "The water's cold".... and the other fellar said, "The water's deep".

    Navigating by your Telephone?

The only Navionics product I'm finding for Lake Champlain is "FISH-G Fish'N'Chip - Great Lakes", which is $200 for a two-year subscription. Upon retirement (meaning fixed income) in two years, I expect to do 100% of my boating on Champlain. I really resent having to spend so much money...

Do people here read Soundings magazine?

I'm a newbie to boating, but quickly got discouraged reading the standard magazines available at the newsstand. BUT, I recently discovered Soundings... Kind of refreshing, in a way, but I quickly came to the conclusion that the audience was way more affluent than I could ever expect to be...
