You might look around to see if you can find someone in your area with a moisture meter (and really knows how to use it). I think I would concentrate on the transom, and keel areas first.

I'm a little surprised that an absolute vacuum level is not specified for the reference cylinder, then bringing the other three to match. I use a 4-tube mercury manometer, primarily for balancing the throttle bodies (fuel injection) on my Yamaha motorcycle, and a starting value is specified...

That looks like Arkansas Chrome on the outside of the plastic bucket... What's a practical solution for rode on deep lakes like Seneca in NYS where depth is 600 feet? I'm assuming thin, strong cable, or go sit on the porch with the puppies...

Guess I just have to ask, why butane at all? Makes sense for backpacking, but why for boating? The gas itself is just as potentially dangerous as propane (heavier than air, and "settles"). But, the containers are thinner and much easier to puncture or corrode-through than disposable propane...
