    01/27 - 01/29 - Seattle Boat Show 2017

There is a small possibility that I might make it. I won't know until much nearer the time...

Hot Springs Cove/Tofino/Vancouver Island West Coast

I've been to the cove with Natural C-lection http://naturalc-lection.blogspot.ca/2015/08/july-30-to-august-2nd-clayoquot-sound-44.html and also by kayak while circumnavigating most of the island by kayak. In the summer, it is a matter of having time to choose days to travel if you are going...

Lake Powell and Lake Mead in March

Thanks for all the replies. It sounds as if Lake Powell is the best option, and we should bring mousetraps and frisbees!

Lake Powell and Lake Mead in March

Does anyone have any experience of boating on these lakes in March? Monica and I are thinking of taking Natural C-lection down there during our Spring break (March 9-26) and wondered if that seems like a reasonable plan. I went kayaking on lake Mead last year at that time and the lake seemed...

    Seattle visit

I found that page and decided to call the office at Pt Townsend, and it looks like I can pull into the marina and meet the customs agent there. He said to call ahead and make an appointment... but it sounds posible at leas and does not require a big detour...

    Seattle visit

Thanks all. Looks like Bell Habor or Shishole are the options. Where should I clear customs/immigration? Should I stop in Port Townsend or go straight to Seattle? What are the options?

    Seattle visit

I am thinking of doing a short trip to the Seattle area from Victoria with my CD22. Does anyone have any recommendations for a marina to stay at while visiting? Where is the best place to clear into the US on the way? Port Townsend?

    Safety flares in Canada

Since we can easily buy the pistol type flares here and they are recommended in various safety courses (I have been taking a 4 day "marine emergency duties" course this week!) I think the pistol type are just fine.

    05/20 - 05/22 - 2016 Friday Harbor CBGT

We managed to squeeze in a quick visit. Nice to see many familiar faces. Border services is a bit more complicated than it used to be! It was a nice day trip from Bedwell harbour!

    Bennet pump unit location recommendation

Nice clear description and images! Thanks. Where did you get your weld mount studs from? I seem to remember you were in Canada... Did you drill out the starboard to make the breadboard? cheers and thanks!

    Bennet pump unit location recommendation

I am going to take a look at options. I might see about putting it in the Starboard lazarette along with the starter battery.

    Bennet pump unit location recommendation

My original Bennet trim tab pump motor gave up the ghost as a result of waster damage. The original location was a few inches above the floor in the space between the two fuel tanks. As a result of a partially flooded cockpit in a following sea, I think the pump unit got wet and eventually died...

I won't be getting to the hotel until after 8 PM, so no Friday dinner for me. (Arriving on the clipper). See you all Saturday.

    01/29 - 01/31 - Seattle Boat Show 2016

I like the idea of eating out both nights... I would not be able to make the Friday evening event as the clipper arrives from Victoria at 7:45... and might have trouble organizing food for the pot luck. However, if we go for the potluck, I am sure I could bring something!

    freeing seized drum brake

When I got back from my last trip I discovered that one of the brakes on my trailer was seized shut. I drove it around and started and stopped (no load on trailer) and eventually it freed up. Is there a recommended way to free such a seize up and what should I be doing to maintain these brakes...
