If I've posted this twice, sorry... I whined enough and got the Frigidare 5000 btu. The box says you need 23" of width in the window, we have only 16 wide 15 tall window on our Cape Cruise. It may not fit, but we looked at one unboxed and the actual width of the unit (at least the front part)...

Our Cape Cruiser has total capacity of 60 gallons... which is bigger than some C-22's, so do we still need to plan to pack some gas cans? How about water? Is the water tank usually big enough or do you pack drinking water? We have two different brochures one says we have a 20 gal water tank...

Thanks to our kids in Texas for storing the boat from Florida, awaiting our arrival and towing rest of way to its new home.

Les, I was one of those very excited about the transom door...but I didn't really envision a full swimplatform... just a single engine with a narrower well, and a transom door over the swimstep.... We're cruisers, not fisherpeople, and I don't like ocean boating... so I'm guessing what I care...

PS: we don't currently have either tablets or smartphones...

Casey, Not to change your thread too much, but in looking at your photo album we noticed the photo of your boat cover - very nice! We are in the process of buying a 2006 Venture (Cape Cruiser) 23 and want to get a boat cover made. We are hoping to find a manufacturer who has already done one...

PS: Two more costs to consider: one cost of ownership is the 3ft-itis that everyone ends up with. You think you have the boat you want for the rest of your life... and then you start lusting for something bigger, different, whatever.... and of course, none of your accessories or gadgets are...

As a CPA, I smiled when I read your post. TCO on a boat is always more than you think it will be... and always more in the year you can't afford it. Since we have been in the C-Dory market, I have looked at the depreciation/resale value factor... and I can't really figure out the logic in...

This is really nice. I especially like the handles that make it a tray. I hope these are something we could buy sometime soon. (all of your mods look great).
