    dead battery

    The Lowrance GPS/Fishfinder I have needed to have a cutoff switch installed even if you turned off at the machine. If not installed it will remain on. Bob also made a subtle mention of that.

    Shore power

    We use a 12gauge extension cord attached to a 30amp fitting that plugs into the shore side pedestal. Then we use zip ties to attach the cord to the boats rails and at the pedestal.Just cut them when leaving.Never have to worry about cord falling in the water.

    Talking about flares.......I ran into a new concept to me at the Seattle boat show. It's the ODEOFLARES flare which is a hand held red flare using lasers rather than pyrotechnics. Runs on batteries and I understand has the blessing of the coast guard in our area.

    The upper oil extractor We have been using for yrs is the Moeller. You put the tube in and pump the thing up and go away and let it do its thing.

    I use a fan like the Wesr Marine one that Harvey has (you also need a small amount of heat) and be sure and leave all the drawers and doors open. Never have had a problem. Roger, your nice setup should be ample to get the air movement you need.

    we use Mer Maids boat wash with 2 percent Carnauba wax. It really works and people are always saying that our boat looks brand new. One of the things I like about it is that it helps maintains the hand done wax.

    Or you could get the Scotty hooks for your downrigger and keep them ready for use at any time. During the winter when not fishing I keep them in the ball holder in the cabin storage.

    we put it on our Tomcat and did not have to do any glue type of any nature. It really did away with any condensation.

    we have the seat back that Simon mentions on our 24 Tomcat and it is really great for someone facing forward when we are under way.

    Have been using rains for yrs on the boat. It also makes it a cinch on a dirty window to just take a damp towel and go over the window and then wipe down with a dry one.
