Do you have a 'spinner knob' on the steering wheel? If not, think about installing one. With practise you will find manouvering easier. Don't buy one from a Chandlers, much cheaper at a Farm equipment shop. Martin.

If I wanted to get up on plane because I am in a hurry I would use the mother boat. For the dingy, I loved my 2.5 Suzuki. Weighs 29 lbs, can pass it over the gunnel and on to the dinghy using one hand. Easy to stow in the cockpit as well. Martin.

For a 22 C-Dory, 35' to 40' of high test chain followed by 150' to 200' of rode should be enough. I agree with an earlier post, too much chain in the bow reduces the effiency of the trim tabs. Another benefit is........if the windlass should fail, pulling up 40' of chain by hand is a darn site...
