    boat for sale

You're a good guy, Dr. Bob. Helpful and concise answer to the question. Thanks for being here, always willing to give guidance.

    come on guys!

To be fair, Kevin: this site is about all things C-Dory... and that includes buying, selling, or trading C-Dorys. I see you are new here (5 months and 13 posts), so you may not have an understanding of everything that encompasses this site. It is privately owned by two of our members and they...

    C-Dory 22 Cruiser Interior Rebuild

I bought a couple pieces of the wood with the white laminate from the factory when we bought our 25 in 2006. At that time, it was called Decraboard, and I haven't seen it anywhere since.

    The Passing of an Icon

Rest in Peace, Bill; and condolences to El and family. This couple influenced many of us to pursue the C-Dory cruising lifestyle. It was the open writing style of their travels in their 22 that convinced us that retiring early was not only doable, but desirable. Bill was one of the first to...

    Tommys got a new gig.

Congrats on the new (additional) gig, Tom. You know your boat stuff and will be a valuable asset for Cabelas. I'd suggest you keep it light and keep it fun - when you make your living doing something that others do for the fun of it, it can change your perspective. This coming from someone...

Anyone have a C-Dory 25 cruiser near Wilmington, NC

When we first considered a C-Dory, I was pretty sure the 22 would be our choice; my wife wanted to see a 25 before committing. In 2006, C-Dory had a significant presence at the Seattle Boat Show, and we flew up there from Texas to see the entire line. After first walking through the 22, we...

    Today...is special

I would be one of those "boatless" C-Brats. I still look in most days, because this place has felt like "home" for nearly 2 decades for me. Our boatless days are our future: tomorrow, we do the final walk-through and get the keys for the new house in the desert. Our daughter has been lobbying...

    East Coast Equivalent of C-Dory

Hey, EC Curious. If you want something like a C-Dory, I'd nicely suggest that you get yourself ready for a road trip to find a C-Dory. While the other boats that ssobol suggested are nice boats, they aren't a C-Dory. I tried to find a C-Dory in south Texas back in 2005 when we started...

My boat has an amazing Suspension system in choppy water

Pretty sure the OP's question was tongue-in-cheek. Your throttle will have a tension adjustment screw, depending on the motor/model under the shroud around the throttle.

    The Pirate is Gone

For some of us, his music was the "soundtrack to our lives." His concerts were an event. He built quite a business empire based on that laidback lifestyle. RIP, JB.

    Let's talk 23 Ventures

To fill in any further gaps in the 22/23 and 25/26 saga, we bought our CD25 (Wild Blue) in 2006. Some employees at C-Dory and one of the original family that brought the C-Dory to market broke away and started the Cape Cruiser boats. The original premise of the 23 and 26 was: like an updated...

Looking for a mattress barrier to reduce unwanted moisture.

We used the Hypervent under the V-berth pads on Wild Blue - it really made a difference. We also put a foam pad that we bought at Walmart that was marketed as a "pool floatie" - about 1/2" thick and about 3 1/2' x 6' rectangle - along the hull. Sliced that pad in half and slid that alongside...

    Honda Tilt Shaft / Steering

Before you start replacing parts, you might check into cleaning out and replacing the grease in the steering rod mechanism. When it sits for a while, that grease can compact like concrete, not allowing the engine to turn at all.

Panga Cabin to compete with the C-Dory???

Interesting website... besides the quote that they are a direct competition to the C-Dory brand, they also say that Panga boats are the preferred boat for "the drug trade" in the Caribbean. Sketchy? Well, certainly a different type of promotion on that site. We see some Panga boats...

Rocky Mountain 22's? or Western Plains?

A lot of current and previous owners have been where you are right now. If you aren't in the Pacific Northwest, it can be tough to get the opportunity to see one in person. We happened across a 22 Cruiser in 2005 sitting on a boat lift near Rockport, TX. The lift wasn't in front of a house...

    TC255 SLING POSITION POINTS

Hi John, The Big Chute Railway was our second favorite part of the Trent-Severn. What's first, you ask? Thanks for asking... that would be the Peterborough Lift Lock. We spent the night at the wall there, and the lift operator asked if I wanted to come into the control room to see how he ran...
