    Daydream's Great Loop Blog!

Having lived for quite a while on the "other" coast we know what you mean. The last year we lived in CT I think we had 19 snow storms. At least you don't have to shovel rain. Can't wait to read your take on Maine. If you like it we will sell you a piece :-) Pat, is your projected route shown...

    Daydream's Great Loop Blog!

Pat & Patty, I think having you and Capt. Jim on the same side of the continent is causing some kind of force field that is causing it to rain on you. Next thing you know Jim will be seeing F/D Dolphins cruising up the roadway. Hate to rub it, in but way up here in PNW it's 70F , sunny, calm...

    Towing an airhead inflatable

This topic had me worried for a moment. Had diverse visions of someone towing an inflatable composting toilet. (Air Head). Knowing how inventive C-Brats can be, I just had to look.

    Trailer can't back...

I can thoroughly endorse going electric over hydraulic as it gives you way more control over the whole process. Not so sure about your comment re:- replace the whole brakes. I think you only need to replace the hydraulic actuator with an electric driven pump/reservoir and an emergency battery...

Check engine alarm on Honda 90

Doug, From one "Kingfisher" to another:- If all else fails you are not too far from EQ marine in Cornet Bay, home of the "pragmatic" engine guy. Good luck Merv

Check engine alarm on Honda 90

As always, Dr. Bob is spot on target. Having spent a lifetime in complex machinery monitoring & diagnostics I can personally attest to the fact that in any electrical system, connections are the prime suspect (add salt water & it get 10x worse) followed by faulty sensors. Or, in the case I...

Check engine alarm on Honda 90

Had a similar situation on twin BF 150's with a solid alarm on one engine. To cut a long story of false computer readouts and much expense involved in getting the boat home, our local friendly Honda guy at EQ had the smart idea of switching the ECU's between engines to see if the fault moved...

    Cruising Puget Sound?

Hate to tell you that Cafe Langley just closed after 37 years. Sad. Primo Bistro is good as is Braeburn and others. Dock has been extended. Coupeville has limited dock and maybe a bit exposed to W but plenty of good restaurants with a new one opening on the dock this year. Oak Harbor, plenty...

    Engle or Isotherm frig/freezer

Fred, We were very happy with an Engle on the Rosborough. It fitted under the aft seat very nicely and was quiet in operation on either ac or dc. Use it mainly for keeping frozen goods in reserve and threw in a block of ice to keep up the thermal mass when the "goodies" started to get low. Merv

Retired Older Men Scam Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it. A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular customers at...

    Trailer bounce empty

And if you have electric over hydraulic brakes, back off the boost otherwise you can leave a lot of expensive blue smoke behind you if you have to brake even fairly hard. Very effective with tailgaters :-) M

    Daily Laugh 2

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in Montana when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust. The driver, a young man in a Brioni® suit, Gucci® shoes, RayBan® sunglasses and YSL® tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy...

    Daily Laugh 2

apologies if this has been posted before. OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE? Once upon a time, an American company and a Japanese company decided to have competitive boat race on a river. Both teams practiced hard and long to reach their peak performance. On the big day, they both felt as ready as they...
