If you have a transom bar, you have 95% of what you need. I hang my 2 1/2 horse Suzi off the transom bar and made a wood block to tighten its transom clamps against. Easy-peasy. jd

An experienced fabricator will take all the appropriate measurements directly off your boat. Because of all the angles and curves on the cabin roof, close is not good enough, if you want a good fit. Also, consider whether you might ever want to carry an inflatable dinghy on your roof. If so...

do you use gasoline with ethanol? Is it filtered? Was it "old" gasoline? I'd check those things first. jd

Previous owner of my boat fashioned a fish box for the forward part of the motor well that is slick and drains water. And if you're not into fishing it holds a lot of gear and is a great place to sit your cooler too. I can upload photos if anyone is interested. jd

the Anacortes (Washington Park) ramp is kind of small and can be very busy if fishing is open. It can also be challenging at low tides and/or if the wind is from the North. Both Cornet Bay and Bellingham are nice big ramps, well protected, with safe parking. jd

I've been doing some screw-hole patching both above and below waterline with epoxy per Dr. Bob's recommendations. Now that I've got the patching done, I'm wondering if I need to apply gel-coat over the below-waterline patches or can I skip the gel-coat and just apply a primer and bottom paint...
