    16' CD anchor light wanted

Ron- I have a anchor light. It's not original. I bought it when I had a problem with my light. It fit but didn't work. it turned out it was my contacts in the base. I cleaned them and put back the original light. This light should still work. If you could forward my e-mail address...

Southeast Alaska 2012 with Jay, Jo-Lee & the Hunkydory

Being boatless for a while and rarely posting, I do check the web-site everyday. I enjoy reading about Hunky Dory, Wild Blue and others . Jay, use as many words as you need to describe your experience. This is the only way I can enjoy boating right now. Continue to have a safe trip and keep...

    C-Dory Dealers

I agree with Charlie and Nick, Mobile East has a good reputation for service. My point was you shouldn't have to jump thru hoops to find out who the dealers are. I bought my new 2006 22 C Dory from Cutter Marine in Maryland who then was dropped as a dealer. An Annapolis, Md sailboat dealer...

    C-Dory Dealers

Is it just me? Am I missing something? I was looking up C-Dory dealers on the C-Dory website. They don't list them anymore. Your referred to Triton Marine's website and can only give your name and e-mail and they will get back to you with a, I imagine, local dealer's contact numbers. I like...

    Trailering and other things

I drove 18 wheelers for ten years - 5 cross country and 5 years making local deliveries in metropolitan NY. What I did then and still do today when I get in congested traffic is turn my radio to a classical station. It seems to have a calming effect on me -takes away any return aggression. I...

    Dinghy and Marina's

Jim, I agree that when you look at it as a "parking fee" it doesn't seem to be unreasonable. I was just wondering about how prevalent this charge was. As most of you have linked the dinghy use and the pleasure of anchoring out, it was why I posted. Although I don't have the Jeanie P anymore, ...

    Dinghy and Marina's

Do most marina's charge a fee when you use your dinghy and tie up to their dock? Is there a time limit for any free dockage? What is the protocol for getting permission? Thanks Allan

Just Missed a Real Trailering Disaster

" Never re-use a hitch ball" :?: I'm confused. Does this mean that every time you change ball sizes, you have to get a new one to replace the one you just took off? What makes it bad? Allan

    Malibu Rapids Flood-is it safe?

Roger, as you have guessed, my maritime experience is rather limited. That's why I check this web site daily to experience it thru fellow C-Brat's exploits. Tom, thanks for linking Hunky Dory's video again. I was thrilled when it was first shown and am still thrilled. Allan

    Malibu Rapids Flood-is it safe?

By my rough calculation, Malibu Rapids is about a 1/4 nautical mile long. It would seem that a boat would traverse this distance in a short time, even at hull speed, and should not unduly delay anyone waiting to enter. Am I correct on this? Thanks for the chart Larry. Allan

Momma Byrd Update (Byrdman & GYPSY's Mom)

Pat & Mike - I don't normally respond to threads like this, although I sometimes want to. I'm just a little reserved when it comes to private matters like this. Being on the perifery of this site ( not contributing much) I feel like I would be intruding. Over the last couple of years, while...

    My newbie boating plan

Emmeth- I agree on on avoiding incra-itis if you can. Being a newbe myself, we bought three boats in three years. As to not having a car or trailer, not a problem. Check out marinas on NY side of Hudson and north shore of Long Island Sound. Both areas are serviced by trains out of NYC and...

    Porta-Potti Solution

Jim, thanks for posting a link to the regulations. I now can understand the consequences of discharging in a bay or area that does not circulate it's water enough, even if it is such a small amount. Enforcing the regulation in this situation would be difficult, in my opinion. "Officer, your...

    Porta-Potti Solution

The alternative to getting a new porta-potti is just use a bucket lined with plastic kitchen bags. After use, tie off bag and put it into a larger yard trash bag that sits in a milk crate in the engine well. Empty the large bag in the marina dumpsters. Most marina's have trash dumpsters, right...

    Sea Sport manufactured 22' cruiser

Pat I had installed a Garelick 2 step removable step that attached to the gunnel with two metal brackets. I had brackets on both port and starboard and just switched the step depending on which side I was docking on. I believe West Marine used to carry it but I don't see it in the 2009 catalog...
