Mine didn't come with one either (not that this was a poll of any sorts) but that does look a lot more sturdy and would not put nearly the tension on the table like my hinge job. On a positive note I don't have the worry of storing it when not in use.

On Hayesie Daze, we have one mounted under the galley, one mounted under the rear dinette seat and one mounted in the v-berth. Other locations seem standard but I feel having one in the v-berth is important in the event something happens with the kerosene for the Wallas or an electrical issue...

Best guess here is that they were weight testing the sling load strength of the aircraft. I'm pretty certain every six months or so the aircraft has to sustain a specific weight for a specific amount of time as a safety check to ensure the airframe performs as designed.

Good morning, I also have the breaker on behind the helm seat, but I placed the control in the upper right hand corner of the helm console, as far over toward the window and as high as possible for ease of anyone operating it to glance at while keeping the windlass in view...works great...

Mike, I actually purchased a radar mount (powder coated marine aluminum w/ integrated searchlight mount) but unfortunately its not going to work with an inflatable on the roof. The are a great option but there just isn't enough room on the cabin top. Thanks Byron
