Rotted Fuel Pickup Tubes in 2007 C-Dory Cruiser

I have made metal fuel pick up lines out of an automotive brake line. :smiled A good automotive parts store will have a selection of steel brake lines. Just pick one long enough to suit your needs and cut it in half. Wallah! Now you have two pick up lines with a flared fitting on each end...

    Outboard fuel lines

I had to replace the fuel lines for both my outboards this season. :sad The Gas only for the big engine had gotten brittle on the plastic end and the bulb was getting hard to compress. The 2 cycle kicker fuel line had the same problem and a few years ago one of the plastic lines on the big...

    Limits of a C -Dory 16

One summer I had to make an, "Emergency" crossing of Rosario's Strait. I had to make the run across a full incoming tide with the wind standing up the waves. Most of the crossing, I could only see through the windshield when it wasn't covered with water, but even thought water was constantly...

    Simplest Navigation for 16’ C-Dory

I use a 12VDC laptop with Coastal Navigator and a Lowrance depth sounder. For navigating in fog in the San Juan Islands, I use a Washington State Ferry Schedule. Ferries run at a reduced speed in fog and there is usually one going in your direction. :wink

    Question for CD-16s with kicker

Remember, your trolling motor should be strong enough to act as an emergency, "get home motor". Also, try not to mount it on the helm sde. as there will already be enough weight there with the operator. :smileo I have two Evinrudes, a 50hp E-Tec and an older 6hp. :smiled

    Canadian Boarder opens April 1st

Has anyone tried to open an account in ArriveCan ? It says you can open an account, but you can't schedule a trip until 72 hours of reporting in. What a can of worms. :sad

    C-Dory 22 Accident

:( :( Odd that there is no motor visible. A 22' C-Dory would have the motor bolted onto the transum.

    New seats in: 1988 C-Dory 16

Doesn't the upper part of your cabin hatch lock to the lower half ? As far as the shift lever. I found I had to reach behind me to put it into reverse. :smilep

Nice clean job. What is the purpose of the hatch cover in the port side bulkhead? Is is a storage compartment, or what? Also, how do you find the throttle placement? I had to make a bracket to move mine forward.
