Does anyone know about Y-Landing Marina at lake Winnipesaukee? Do they close up shop for the winter and not check phone or email? I'm trying to inquire about a C-Dory they have listed. Thanks.

I visited them once. They were friendly and knowledgeable and appeared to take good care of their inventory. I did not experience a high pressure sale (good thing). I would buy from them (only chose another dealer because of the available inventory).

The challenge is they basically close shop for the winter (at least that was the case when I was engaging them). They also appear to have some delivery limitations during the winter/spring - i.e. I don't think delivery trucks are allowed on the road leading to their business during certain times of the year.

I don't really recall their response time to email/call...I would call and leave a message if you have not already. It's in their best interest to check messages and call you back!

My boat came from there (TC) when the first owner bought it and I sent them a couple of e-mails about how it was rigged and never got a response.

My 22 came from Y-Landing and when I went to transfer the 6 year Suzuki warrenty from the first owner we found out that Y-Landing never paid for or regestered the warrenty with Suzuki. They said they would take care of it and then stopped taking my calls.

Yikes...well...that is not good then. I never made it that far with them having visited just once (during their regular season of course).

I have said this before, it is worth the money to have a boat shipped from the moon if from a good dealer. I learned this the hard way. I would not take another boat from my dealer if they were giving them away.

I tried, and tried - then tried some more to buy the 25 he had advertised. I would get random return calls and emails with promises to send something, or do something - NEVER could get him to send me a purchase agreement for a cash purchase. Since I wanted a boat for the summer I found another and dropped Y-Landing. This guy really shouldn't be considered as a C-Dory dealer - maybe he isn't ?

John from Y-Landing (New Hampshire Guy) used to be pretty active on here. I beleive he even hosted or supported a couple of CBGTs in his day. His last post was almost three years ago in a thread where everyone pretty much beat everyone up over the use of photos from this site.

It sounds like the boat business bust may have slowed him way down. Sad, because he was an active and helpful addition to our site if I recall.

Nope, it wasn't "John" that I talked with up there - it was "David". I was trying to buy last winter - before the market tanked. Good thing I got mine before that happened ! :x I would have hated to have paid $10k less than I did.

We purchased C for Two new from Y-Landing in 2007. I don't think John is with them anymore, but we've found David to be responsive.

John was excellent at getting things done and staying in touch. Unfortunately, he left the dealership soon after the photo debacle referred to by TyBoo. Since that time I tried to have some hull warranty issues addressed by David and spent (wasted) 3 months with unreturned calls and emails and no final satisfaction. I'd find someone else to spend my money with. I really do not enjoy bad mouthing any business but it is what it is.
