Hi
We are thinking of buying a trailer for our c-dory 25 and looking for information about what is the best way to go about it.
thanks

My 2011 CD-25 came with a Load Rite LR-ab26t8400
Carrying capacity 8,400 lbs
It weighs 1,540 lbs

Everyone that sees this trailer says "wow...that's a nice trailer"
I'm used to hearing that as a C-Dory owner but not on any other trailer I've owned!
Lots of boats are sold with under rated so-so trailers and if you are just hauling locally that mite be OK.

But if your going to haul long distances like I do your going to want a "nice" trailer with great brakes! I have surge brakes and they work for me but I never have to tow on ice or snow.

i have photos in my C-otter album....Tom

I have an aluminum Magic-Tlit with tandem wheels for my CD-25. It's equipped with Electric over Hydraulic (EOH) 4-wheel disc brakes and a Tekonsha controller in the SUV. Because this setup doesn't require pole-tongue compression as with surge brakes, adding a weight-distributing hitch (with a Reese pole-tongue adapter) is a snap, and results in better rig handling than without. After 3 seasons of use I can definitely recommend going this route! Photos of this setup are available in my album.

Here's a biased opinion. Journey On rides on an E-Z Loader trailer, made in the PNW. It's a roller trailer. And E-Z Loader now makes aluminum frame trailers, which I don't have. It's been a good trailer. Toms Outboards in Olympia is a dealer and has all the parts.

The trailer itself has been very good. It came with hydraulic over electric and for a load the size of a C-Dory 25, it's the only way to go. It has oil filled hubs.

I'm getting old and lazy, so the rollers allow me to easily launch and retrieve Journey On without dunking the truck in salt water. Works well.

Hydraulic brakes in salt water are a PITA, so wash them down with Salt-Away and flush with fresh water ASAP.
