My wife is supposed to make window coverings this week. She found material she likes (took a month) and I have picked up the snaps. Only problem is that the boat is at les's still. Does anyone have the dimentions of the window in a 22 dory so susan can get started. Other wise I have to drive to les's saturday and measure it.

Tom, I made the window coverings for Knotty C before we came to Lopez. Just a word of experience, none of the windows were exactly square. Not even the front windows. I thought I could just get the dimensions and go from there but found out it wasn't so easy. If Susan took that long to find the fabric, you might want to make sure she knows the true shape before she starts to cut. I made patterns by taping newspaper over the windows and using the edge of a pencil, traced the shape of the window on the paper. Diane of Immacu-nada said she did the same only using a crayon, which I think would work much better. Anyway, doing this, I was able to make perfect fit coverings for our windows and we snapped them in the corners. I'm sure they will turn out beautiful any way she does them, but just wanted to lend my experience.

It seems every time I purchase a camper or motorhome I have to end up putting new curtains on it. Since I really hate those flimsy curtain rods I looked around for a better solution. What I found was a track that held snaps that you can snap the curtains to the track with. This was great as when the curtains were installed they could be slid into the desired position but then they could simply be removed when not wanted. I would think they would be perfect on a C-Dory as you could epoxy the track in place and then just snap the curtains on when needed. Or leave the curtains on except when you want to wash them.

I looked on the net to see if I could find a picture but only found the following.

I'm not positive this is the stuff but I think it is.

Susan will just have to drive to e.q. and get her measurements. She has been threating to do this for weeks, but the fabric just came. We know how we are going to do it we just need the paper patterns. it has to be done before we go to princess l. inlet in two weeks.

It didn't take me long at all to make ours, but I was glad to have the patterns. It only took a couple evenings after work and they were done.

Here's a picture of the sliding snaps on track arrangement by Recmar from the Nancy H 's album that shows what can be done. Look also at the photo before this one and the two that follow as well. Nicely done, Larry!
